Love Jihad – 13-year-old Hindu girl disappears, now 3 weeks pregnant after ‘Nikah’

A 13-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted from Delhi returned home last week and has been found to be three weeks pregnant. Till now three people have been arrested in the case.

On May 6 the girl did not return home after she went to buy some ice cream. According to DCP South-East Romil Baaniya, on May 12, on the complaint of Prem Kumar, the girl’s father, a case u/s 363 IPC was registered. During the investigation one name — Iddu Khan—cropped up who used to work nearby and was missing since the incident.

Several raids were conducted at the possible hideouts at Etah, Uttar Pradesh but in vain. During the investigation a Nikahnama of the missing girl and Iddu Khan was found. During raid at Etah on July 3, one of witness to the Nikahnama — Buddhu Khan — was held.

On July 7 Khan and the girl came before the ACMM court where Khan was arrested. The girl was found pregnant. She, however, refused to go home with parents and is now in a shelter home. One more witness to the Nikahnama —Nizamuddin —has been arrested.

Editor’s Note

This news was reported in a small column on Page 2 in today’s ‘The Pioneer’ news paper. Such is the scale of Love Jihad that regional language newspapers report these incidents frequently, only a tiny fraction of which make it to the English language news. And even when the news makes it to the English news media universe, it gets a muted coverage, unlike the high-profile, sustained coverage of cases when a Muslim is victimized such as the Junaid Khan murder.

It is almost certain that there will be no follow-up reports in this case, no clamor for the prosecution of those arrested, and liberal media outlets like NewsLaundry might even claim that the minor went of her own accord so no crime was actually committed.

Out political leadership has clearly failed in tackling this menace of Love Jihad – senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh even feigned complete ignorance of this evil in 2014. All Dharmic communities need to join hands to save our girls & daughters from falling to these predators. Bollywood’s role in objectifying women, encouraging stalking and planting infantile notions of ‘love’ in impressionable, young minds cannot be overstated. But the solution is not in imposing sharia-style restrictions on girls. We need to educate our youth about Abrahamic religions, true history of Bharat, and most importantly about our own heritage and the equal importance of four pillars of Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha. And for the girls who fall prey to Love Jihad, we must have a proper infrastructure to counsel, rehabilitate and re-integrate them into Hindu society. This is a savage, systematic assault being waged on Hindus and needs a serious, well thought out response.

  1. Times of India had this to add, which is important:

According to the girl’s father, Khan and his friends would come out to
their balconies daily to stare at his daughter. “I had asked my daughter
to avoid them,” the father said.
