Two More Hindu Leaders On Khalistani Terror Hitlist in Punjab

The wave of attacks against Hindu leaders & activists in Punjab just doesn’t seem to end. After the chilling daylight  murder of Hindu Sangarash Sena’s Vipin Sharma in Amritsar, comes news of two more leaders on the terror hitlist – one in Patiala and the other in Phagwara.

Shiv Sena Bal Thackeray district vice-president Mohit Singla was attacked by an unidentified masked man in an attempt to kill him but couldn’t succeed. Singla said the assailant entered his mobile shop in Samana sub-division of Patiala on Thursday evening and tried to shoot him at close range.

Singla ducked under a table, but heard the trigger being pulled twice. However, the weapon did not fire. Singla immediately raised an alarm, but the man managed to escape. Deputy superintendent of police Samana Rajwinder Singh said the police are trying to collect CCTV footage from cameras installed in the area and only after its scrutiny will they be able to get a clear picture of the incident.

Meanwhile in Phagwara, Shivi Batta, the chief of the Hindu Shiv Sena group, got another threatening message on Facebook messenger on Wednesday night. The message said “Where do you want to be shot? Choose the date, time, place.” On Wednesday morning only, Batta had lodged a complaint with police about an earlier threat he received on Tuesday which said “Your turn is about to come. Be prepared. Singhs are coming to correct(kill) the enemy.”

Batta said that earlier he had more police protection which has now been reduced although he has been receiving such threats for some time now. SSP Sandeep Kumar Sharma said that police is in touch with Batta and security of all Hindu organization leaders will be tightened after reviewing the existing arrangements.

Shivi Batta’s elder brother Abhishek, the previous Chief of the Hindu Shiv Sena, had died recently in a road accident – the Batta family believe that Abhishek too was murdered because he also used to receive similar threats.

Shivi Batta said that he is not scared by such messages and that he will continue to oppose terrorism and the Khalistani mindset.

There have been 5 publicized murders of Hindu leaders in Punjab since April 2016 – Hindu Sangarash Sena’s Vipin Sharma in Amritsar, RSS leader Ravinder Gosain in Ludhiana, senior RSS leader Jagdish Gagneja in Jalandhar, Hindu Takht leader Amit Sharma in Ludhiana, Shiv Sena worker Durg Prasad Gupta in Khanna. Two followers of Dera Sacha Sauda and Namdhari sect matriarch Chand Kaur have also been killed.

Congress MP from Ludhiana Ravneet Singh Bittu has claimed that the mastermind of recent killings in Punjab is sitting in Canada and is a pro-Khalistani. He said, “The mastermind is sitting in Canada as per my sources. He is funding the pro-Khalistan youths in Punjab to execute these killings. He hires them on the basis of the social media interest shown in pro-Khalistan pages on Facebook and other social media sites. The motive is to eliminate anti-Khalistan voices, create communal tension and revive terrorism in Punjab.”

In May this year, the BSF and the Punjab Police busted a terror module with links to Canada and Pakistan, and arrested two terrorists, Mann Singh (40) and Sher Singh (28), who were planning to target “enemies of the Panth”.

The security forces also seized a huge cache of arms from the duo, who were arrested from the Bharat-Pak border area while trying to recover the weapons pushed into Bharat’s territory from Pakistan.

This is yet another example of the ‘death by 1000 cuts’ policy adopted by Pakistan to dismember Bharat as part of the ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind‘ Islamic doctrine that prophesizes Islamic rule over Bharat and the conversion of all Hindus to Islam. Yet, we continue to have diplomatic relations with Pakistan and debate endlessly about when to restart talks!

The most effective and low-cost way of dealing with Pakistan is to completely cut off all relations and declare it a terror state – and then demand that our partners do the same. This will also have the added benefit of sending a message across the world that Bharat’s security and territorial integrity are non-negotiable. Canada should also be told in no uncertain terms that Khalistanis operating openly from their territory will have a chilling effect on Bharat-Canada relations.

  1. Vedic Hindus and Sikhs are fingers of the same hand. These separatists forget that every Guru called himself a Hindu, and did not intend (or foresee) his followers ever becoming separate from Hindu Samaj as a whole. Whatever happens, Hindus should never see Sikhs as someone other than their own. A few separatists/Khalistanis cannot break this bond. If they succeed, then all the teachings of the Gurus would have been in vain, all those Hindus who made their sons Sikhs voluntarily would have been in vain. That will never happen. Pakistan thinks it can use our own against us, but they are wrong.
