NIA files chargesheet against arms suppliers in Amit Sharma murder by Khalistan Liberation Front

Amit Sharma (35), an exporter of machine tools who was associated with Hindu organisation Sri Hindu Takht, was murdered by two motorycle-borne exactly four years ago in Ludhiana. His associates had said that Amit was receiving frequent threats from Khalistani terrorists, and that despite meeting top police officials he did not get required security.

Yesterday, NIA filed a supplementary chargesheet against 4 arms suppliers from Meerut, UP who had supplied the gun and other illegal arms used to kill Amit, and to target other Hindu leaders/activists like him. The NIA press release states –

“Today (13/01/2021), NIA filed Supplementary Charge-sheet before the Special NIA Court, Patiala House, New Delhi, against accused: i) Ashish Kumar (ii) Javed and (iii) Arshad Ali @ Munshi, all residents of District Meerut of Uttar Pradesh, under section 120B of IPC, sections 16, 18, 20 and 23 of the Unlawful Activities ( Prevention) Act, 1967 ( as amended) and Section 25 of Arms Act, 1959, in case RC27/2017/NIA/DLI dated 10.12.2017 arising out of FIR No. 06 dated 15.01.2017 of PS Division Number 8, Ludhiana, Punjab related to the killing of Hindu leader Sh. Amit Sharma President of Sri Hindu Takht, Ludhiana in the year 2017.

The brief of the case is that on 14.01.2017, two unknown motorcycle borne assailants killed Sh. Amit Sharma as a part of an organised conspiracy hatched by terrorist outfit Khalistan Liberation Front (KLF). This murder was one among eight such cases of serial killings/attempted killings that took place in Punjab in 2016- 2017 with a view to create terror and communal disturbance.

Earlier, NIA had filed charge-sheet, on 14.05.2018, against 15 following accused persons in this case (i) Hardeep Singh @ Shera, (ii) Ramandeep Singh @ Canadian, (iii) Dharminder Singh @ Guguni, (iv) Anil Kumar @ Kala, (v) Jagtar Singh Johal @ Jaggi, (vi) Amaninder Singh @ Mindu, (vii) Manpreet Singh @ Mani, (viii) Ravipal Singh @ Bhunda, (ix) Pahad Singh, (x) Parvez @ Farru, (xi) Malook Tomar, (xii) Harmeet Singh @ Happy @ PhD, (xiii) Gurjinder Singh @ Shastri, (xiv) Gursharanbir Singh @ Gursharan Singh Wahiwala @ Gursharanvir Singh @ Jagdev Singh @ Pehalwan and (xv) Gurjant Singh Dhillon. 3.

Investigation has established that accused persons Ashish Kumar, Javed and Arshad Ali @ Munshi had facilitated the other accused persons in commission of the terrorist act i.e killing of Amit Sharma by supplying illegal fire Arms used in the crime. They had supplied illegal arms including .32 bore pistols which, along with other weapons/fire arms, were used in target killing cases in Punjab.

Further investigation in the case continues.”

Amit was murdered just months after RSS Punjab Vice President, Brigadier (retd) Jagneja was shot dead in similar fashion in in Jalandhar. Amit left behind a wife and five-year-old son. Not one mainstream media outlet covered the story in detail, no social organisation protested, no one interviewed his family or demanded answers from the state and centre.

Today, as Punjab farmers protest on Delhi’s borders, and there is clear evidence and intelligence inputs about infiltration by Khalistani elements including death threats to the PM and plans to hoist the Khalistani flag at India Gate, left-liberal media and Lutyens’ intelligentsia is dismissing the reports as ‘conspiracy theories to defame protestors’.
