Sex trafficking racket kingpin Aftab who targeted Hindu girls arrested by UP police

The UP (Uttar Pradesh) police have successfully busted a sex-trafficking racket run by Aftab and his gang. The police also rescued two girls belonging to the Basti district. Balrampur district resident Aftab was arrested by the police after they received a tip-off and search for other members of his gang is on-going.

Aftab was running a sex-trafficking racket where he would lure innocent Hindu girls, mostly school students by trapping them in the name of love and then promising them jobs. Aftab had taken several houses on rent at different places across western UP where he used to lock up the kidnapped girls. Aftab even sexually exploited the girls. He would then forcibly convert them to Islam before selling them to Muslim buyers.

He, however, got caught when one of the victims’ brother registered a missing complaint with the Basti police station following which the police swung into action leading to Aftab’s arrest. In his statement to the police, Aftab admitted that he had kidnapped the two girls aged 22 and 15 years from Rudauli and brought them to Mawana with the intention of converting them to Islam.

In his confession, Aftab further said that he had befriended the 22-year-old female three years ago by pretending to be in love with her. He promised to find her 15-year-old friend a job and brought both of them to Mawana. They have no clue that they have been brought there for conversion to Islam. The police have issued a statement that they are investigating as to who all were in touch with Aftab from Mawana and how did house owner Nandu rent his house to Aftab.

The minor girl’s brother said that they had filed a missing complaint with the police but had no hopes of finding the girl. Further, the girl’s friend stayed close to their house and his sister was lured saying that she would be employed in a gutkha firm.

As per the police, both the victims were kept in a rented flat in Mathura before being brought to Mawana. They also said that Aftab had sexually exploited them on several occasions. He was about to sell them when the police acted on a tip-off and rescued the girls after arresting Aftab.

Aftab confessed that they targeted Hindu girls as they were soft targets. Once the victims were trapped and lured Aftab would rape and convert them before selling them to Muslim buyers. Several Muslim youths are said to be a part of Aftab’s gang who use the same modus operandi and have trapped many vulnerable Hindu girls, the majority of them being minors, and sold them to Muslim buyers.

Police have undertaken a further investigation into this case and are contacting flat owners across western UP where Aftab rented flats to collect more details pertaining to the sex-trafficking racket run by Aftab.
