Businessman Vinay Gupta and wife Neha murdered by employee Amaan Hyat Khan aka ‘Aman’ – Noida, UP

Businessman Vinay Gupta (57) and his wife Neha Gupta were found brutally murdered inside their apartment on the ninth floor of Cherry County, a posh highrise in Techzone 4 at Greater Noida West, on Wednesday.

Now, CCTV footage has captured Vinay Gupta’s employee Amaan Hyat Khan entering the society at 12.15 AM on the previous night, reports Amar Ujala. 20 minutes later he was seen leaving with a bag containing cash and keys to Gupta’s mart. Vinay and his wife were running a departmental store in the commercial area of the society, where they sold groceries, clothes, artificial jewellery etc, and employed a number of staff.

The murder came to light when the couple’s son Kush Gupta reached the flat. Both husband and wife had been hit by heavy objects by the killer. Kush informed the police shortly. Later, another son arrived from US for the funeral.

The stall for clothes actually belonged to Vinay’s nephew Saurabh Mittal. Khan, a native of East Champaran district in Bihar, had taken up the job only 4 months back. He earlier used to work in a cloth showroom in Gaur City mall, Noida.

Khan used to give his name as ‘Aman’ (a name more often used by Hindus) instead of the actual name ‘Amaan’. He had taken time off from work citing illness many days before the murder and completely switched off his phone two days back. It is believed that during the murder, Khan’s shoes got covered with blood so he wore a pair of shoes belonging to Vinay before fleeing.

As per Additional Commissioner of Police (law & order), Luv Kumar, multiple teams have been formed to nab the accused. He said that Neha’s body was found near the kitchen, with a half-eaten paratha next to her. She was likely having a late night meal to prepare for fasting the next day on the festival of Karva Chauth. Her husband’s body was found 20 steps away in another room.

This incident has sent shockwaves in the posh societies of GreNo West and other parts of Noida. Police are questioning the security agency guards who failed to stop or challenge the murderer. Further questioning of other employees and scrutiny of accounts has revealed that the Khan was also stealing money from the sales he made at his stall in the Gupta’s store.
