Subramanya Swamy murtis beheaded and vandalised in Chittoor, AP

Hindu temples and murtis vandalization continue unabated in AP (Andhra Pradesh) with reports emerging of Subramanya Swami murtis having been vandalized in a village in AP’s Chittoor district. Twitterati Sai Priya brought to light the incident where three murtis that of Subramanya Swamy and His consorts, having been vandalized and dumped near the temple by unidentified miscreants.

According to available information, the incident took place at the Subramanya Swamy Temple at Bodaguttapalle village in Kuppam Mandal of Chittoor district. The vandals are believed to have entered the temple late at night on Monday (March 5) and beheaded the murtis of Bhagwan Subramanya and His consorts Devis Devasena and Valli.

Furthermore, it was local shepherds who brought this to the attention of the villagers who in turn informed the police. As the word of the incident spread around, villagers from neighboring villages arrived at Bodaguttapalle in large numbers. Police have initiated an investigation in this case.

It must be pointed out that there were reports of a murti of Bhagwan Nandi having been stolen only two days ago from a Shiva mandir in Chittoor district.

Instances of Hindu temple vandalization are on the rise in AP ever since Jagan Reddy took over as CM. Hindu seers had even conducted a conclave to finalize an action plan to protect and preserve Hindu dharma, its temples, and the ‘sampradaya‘. It isn’t surprising that while on the one hand Hindu temples are being attacked, on the other Christianity is being promoted in AP with the active support of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
