Woman returning with holy Ganga water for Mahashivratri lured and raped by acquaintance Akram

A 25-year-old woman returning after gathering Kanwar for the festival of Mahashivratri was lured on the pretext of giving her a lift and gang-raped by an acquaintance Akram and one other person on Wednesday.

The woman had gone along with her husband from Aligarh to Ramghat, district Bulandshahr to gather Kanwar (water from the holy Ganga river), a distance of around 45 km. While coming back, the woman got tired and decided to take a break at a petrol pump near Talanagari. She got a call from Akram and he offered to drop her till her home on his bike.

A little while later Akram arrived along with a friend Sandeep. On the pretext of taking her home, he instead took her to Agra and there the two of them raped the woman.

The survivor returned from Agra on Thursday evening and went to Banna Devi police station to lodge a complaint. But she was turned away and told to approach Harduaganj police station instead. On Friday evening, she managed to reach Harduaganj police station where her complaint of gang-rape against Akram and Sandeep was finally lodged. The police referred her to district hospital for medical examination.

Now, imagine the outrage if a Muslim woman had been similarly assaulted while celebrating her festival or returning from a Muslim pilgrimage? Our mainstream media is more obsessed with the beating of a 14-year-old Muslim boy who had entered a temple premises in Muslim-dominated Dasna allegedly for drinking water! Targeted rapes of Hindus or brutal torture and murder of other 14-year-olds like Mahesh Kolli are just routine law & order issues for them!

It has been observed that such acquaintances with Muslim men often prove costly for Hindu families, especially women:

  • 19-year-old domestic help raped by her Muslim neighbor on pretext of offering lift
  • Minor girl Neetu bludgeoned to death by ‘friend of the family’ Laik Khan for rejecting his advances.

The classic case which demonstrates how the mind of a Muslim sexual predator operates is that of 30-year-old Muhammad Shafi, who was arrested for sexually assaulting more than 30 Hindu women in Kerala after deceiving them by posing as an NRI surgeon. Shafi stated that he would not target Muslim women since they belong to his religion. “A devout Muslim, he thinks it is a sin to molest a Muslim girl,” said investigators.

While such Muslim predators appear to prey exclusively on Hindu women, they shockingly get help from criminal-minded Hindus as well.  So Hindu women face a double whammy of sexual crimes: from Muslim predators bred on a fanatical Islamist doctrine which views non-Muslim women as ‘immoral’ and maal-e-ghanimat (spoils of war), and from Hindu criminals emboldened by dysfunctional law enforcement and a popular culture where contempt for Dharmic values (aka sanskars) is normalized and sexual objectification and sleaze are glorified.
