Dalit Hindu Man Attacked by Pro Pak Sloganeers & Eve-Teasers In Jahangirpuri, Delhi

On 25th of September 2016, the registered organization ‘UP Bihar Ekta Manch’ took out a candle march for martyrs of terrorist attack on Uri, in Jahangirpuri area of New Delhi. This is the north west belt of Delhi where a lot of Muslim migrants reside. As per one of the eye witnesses, the problem began when the candle march procession was passing the Rani Chennamma School. Some people started shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans there. The people doing candle march avoided confrontation there and moved on. The procession included some 10 year-old children too.

There were some girls from various NGOs too who participated in this candle march. As these girls dispersed and were going back post the march, a girl named Vandana was eve-teased by some men who also started shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ while teasing. A local resident, who is Valmiki i.e. a Dalit Hindu, Sunil Kumar alias Bholu was standing there and protested against eve-teasing and pro Pak slogans. The eve-teasers suddenly called out and within a few minutes, a mob of about 100 men gathered there with rods, knives or sticks in their hands. A couple of policemen standing there ran away. This Dalit boy was brutally attacked by the mob. The girls who were eve-teased did not leave the spot and tried to protect Bholu. They almost made a cover around him while asking the assaulters to stop. Bholu was saved but suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Many vehicles were also torched by the mob and about half a dozen people were injured.

Later on, entire police force returned to manage the area. The senior police officials of the city were involved and kept in loop. Sudarshan TV covered the news in detail. All the details are mentioned in the FIR filed by Sunil Kumar alias Bholu. Here is a short clip of Bholu being treated in hospital for multiple injuries :

A couple of other eye witnesses say that Kushal Cinema area in Jahangirpuri is almost a death zone. Police gets beaten regularly here by Muslim migrants. It is alleged that in 2010, a police man was killed there.  Reports have also come in that on Muharram mourning / Ashura, police men were again beaten up in front of Babu Jagjeevan Ram hospital. The fact that this is happening in the national capital of Bharat is not only appalling, but alarming too.

Though mainstream English media has reported this news, but it is grossly twisted and real facts seem to have been obfuscated, may be because Delhi currently claims a ‘secular’ rule by Aam Aadmi Party’s Arvind Kejriwal. It may be be noted that this area lies in the same belt and is near Vikaspuri, where Dr. Narang was lynched to death by Muslim migrants. In fact, this whole belt – Vikaspuri, Mangolpuri, Jahangirpuri are slightly low level income areas and have high migrant population.

The leftist media portals have obfuscated the facts of this violent incident as general ‘communal clashes between residents’. The way this news has been reported in ‘The Hindu’ is deeply disappointing to Hindus living in the area. ‘The Hindu’ labelled it as ‘ two communities clash in Jahangirpuri‘.

‘Scroll.in’ went even further and claimed as it as an incident the cause of which is ‘land encroachments‘. Both these news pieces do not substantiate their claims with pictures, videos or copy of the FIR/ complaint.

(We thank Sh. Abhimanyu, Sh. Arvind Mishra and Sh. Prashant Patel for speaking to us).
