Journalist Rohit Sardana & Family Receive Mass Threats from Muslim Fanatics

The smokescreen created by the ‘Intolerance Rising’ chant of the left-liberal gang since May 2014 was successful to a large extent in hiding the real intolerance that has been growing in this country for many years now under the indulgent eye of successive ‘secular’ Congress & clone regimes – the rise of Islamism.

The fanaticism of the garden-variety Islamists who are now beginning to openly assert themselves first erupted in full force during the sudden Azad Maidan rioting that rocked downtown Mumbai on 11 Aug 2012. Since then, we have seen Muslim mobs being mobilized for one ’cause’ after the other – most spectacularly in the synchronized multi-city protests demanding the lynching of Kamlesh Tiwari.

The vicious trolling and crude hate speech directed at likes of Sonu Nigam / Suchitra Krishnamoorthy (for protesting illegal use of loudspeakers for azaan), cricketers Mohammad Shami (for sharing a photo of his wife in a Western gown), Mohammad Kaif (for the ‘sin’ of playing chess with his son), and attacks on many other lesser known individuals – all this showed how mainstream the so-called ‘Islamist fringe’ now is.

And now, a journalist known for his plain-speaking views is on their hit list. Rohit Sardana, who recently joined Aaj Tak after leaving Zee News, has been inundated with hundreds of threats received via phone and social media since the last 2 days. His ‘crime’? In context of the controversy surrounding the title of the film ‘Sexy Durga’, Sardana had asked why the word ‘Sexy’ is prefixed only to revered Hindu goddesses like Durga, Radha etc, while no one does it for sacred figures of other religions?

Sardana’s India Today group colleague Gaurav Sawant had also asked the same question, but in English, probably the reason why he has thus far escaped the attention of the Islamist lynch mob –

Incidentally, Maa Durga has often faced derogatory labels like ‘Sexy Prostitute’ from the Marxist-Missionary-Islamist cabal. Leftists on JNU have organized Mahishasur Divas in the past where Maa Durga is portrayed as an ‘Aryan prostitute’ who seduced and murdered the ‘indigenous king’ Mahishasur. More recently, a DU professor was booked for his Facebook post likening Goddess Durga to a ‘sexy prostitute’.

Chilling Bulk Threats Against Rohit Sardana

The Islamist machinery across the nation has been mobilized to browbeat Sardana. Not satisfied with filing complaints against him in different police stations such as  Hyderabad, Bengaluru etc, now death threats are being issued against him, his wife and children via phone, WhatsApp, twitter etc.

Sardana has approached the UP police with all the threats he has been receiving – some of those numbers showing up from Saudi Arabai, Congo, Honduras etc

Sardana Receives Meagre Support from Media Fraternity, Politicians

Sardana is a renowned Hindi language journalist of a national media house like Aaj Tak (India Today group). Yet, the torrent of threats and abuse he has been receiving have elicited hardly any response from the leading lights of his fraternity – likes of Barkha Dutt, Rajdeep Sardesai, Shekhar Gupta, Karan Thapar are conspicuous by their silence.

Going by Sardana’s timeline, only the following fellow journalists have expressed solidarity with him – India Today group colleagues Gaurav Sawant, Sweta Singh, Shiv Aroor; Sushant Sinha from India News, Kanchan Gupta from ABP, Aditya Raj Kaul from Republic TV.

From politics, only BJP leaders, including Kiren Rijiju (Minister of State for Home Affairs), have condemned this organized harassment. A Congress leader Hasan Ahmed has in fact asked for Rohit Sardana to be arrested – other sundry Muslim maulanas and clerics have issued open threats of ‘Muslim retaliation’ if authorities do not arrest Sardana.

This tweet sums up the double standards of our secularists quite well –

Aaj Tak office in Bengaluru attacked

A Shia group Anjuman-e-Imamia organized a protest march after Friday namaz on the busy Richmond Road in Bengaluru on Friday, halting traffic and chanting slogans “Band karo band karo aaj tak band karo”. Window panes of the Aaj Tak office were also broken by the mob.

Yet, no media house has thought it fit to take up this issue in a big way. While reams and reams have been written on the Padmavati controversy, with most editors bashing the Karni Sena and other Hindu groups for their protests against the film, not one editor has as yet thought it fit to question why Sardana’s remarks are being labelled ‘blasphemous’? Where is the blasphemy against Islam in asking why sacred Hindu and Muslim/Christian figures are not treated equally by the film fraternity?

Most media reports are bandying Sardana’s clarification as an ‘apology’

The man has nothing to apologize for! He has said nothing even remotely derogatory about Muhammad’s wife Ayesha, daughter Fatima and Jesus Christ’s mother Mary. Is it now haram for kafirs to even take the names of Muslim icons?

It is clear that the Islamists are out to muzzle Sardana and the handful of other journalists like him who openly espouse the nation’s cause and oppose Muslim pandering. This issue is just an excuse to play victim, the real intent is to send a chilling message to all media houses.
