The Muslim genius at playing victim, in spite of 1300 years of aggression upon Hindus

An article in the Times of India today caught my eye.  It is titled “How these Muslim authors are writing the wrongs.”  It says it highlights the experiences of Indian Muslims, “from classroom bullying to challenges of ghettoisation..”

Strange. Day after day, radical Muslims explode bombs, shoot innocent Hindus, terrorize Hindus, drive Hindus out of their homes, and yet, THEY are the victims?  Of classroom bullying? Are we supposed to laugh or cry at such a claim? And yet, this is the kind of perspective that mainstream media, both in Bharat and abroad, frequently carry.  The poor Muslim, how bad it is that there are (isolated) cases of classroom bullying?

Reading the article, I found this particular passage particularly perplexing. It is penned by one of Bharat’s best known Muslim journalists, Saeed Naqvi.

An example of the former is veteran journalist Saeed Naqvi’s 2016 book, ‘Being The Other: The Muslim in India’, which delves into the Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb of his ancestral home Awadh. “Communalism breeds on jihalat (ignorance). People don’t know that the maximum number of poems on Ram and Krishna were written by Urdu poets rather than Hindu ones,” says Naqvi. The book grew from his sense of shame at the rising incidents of communal violence. “Until the 1990s, when relatives from across the border visited us, they’d envy us because we were an open society. There were more Hindus in my drawing room and hardly any Muslims. But I began to feel embarrassed when the Babri Masjid fell, and incidents of love jihad and lynchings began.”

So this highly intelligent journalist, started to feel embarrassed starting in the 1990s.  This raised the following questions in my mind, which I will list below.

Was he not embarrassed in 1989 when 4 Lakh Kashmiri Hindus were driven out, using terror, murder, and rape, from their homeland?  Was he not embarrassed that Muslim rulers demolished and desecrated tens of thousands of Hindu temples during the dark period of Islamic rule?  The “Babri Masjid” whose falling he rues was built on the spot of one of Hindu Dharma’s holiest shrines, and was indeed called “Masjid janmasthan” in early Islamic writings on it.  Is he not embarrassed that the invader Babur, in whose name the masjid was built, used to make pillars from the heads of slain Hindus, as the following passage from the Baburnama clearly states:

‘And victory the beautiful woman (shahid) whose world-adornment of waving tresses was embellished by Allah will aid you with a mighty aid, bestowed on us the good fortune that had been hidden behind a veil, and made it a reality. The absurd (batil) Hindus, knowing their position perilous, dispersed like carded wool before the wind, and like moths scattered abroad. Many fell dead on the field of battle; others, desisting from fighting, fled to the desert exile and became the food of crows and kites. Mounds were made of the bodies of the slain Hindus, pillars of their heads.

(Babur-Nama, translated into English by A.S. Beveridge, New Delhi reprint, 1979, pp. 572-73)

Is he not embarrassed that 90% of the Muslims of British India, many of them landed gentry and elites like his ancestors, voted for the formation of Pakistan?  Is he not embarrassed that these Muslims, in their newly created country of Pakistan, wiped out and ethnically cleansed all traces of Hindu civilization, so that there are only 1% Hindus remaining today?  Is he not embarrassed that, on average, one Hindu girl is abducted and forcibly converted to Islam each day in Pakistan today (as per its own government estimates)?

Is he not embarrassed that Pakistani army butchered 3 Million Bengalis (over 80% of these Hindus, for no other fault than that they were Hindu) in 1971, well before the 1990s (when Mr. Naqvi first started to feel embarrassed)?

Is he not embarrassed that Pakistan sends terrorists into Bharat, to target innocent Hindu civilians (such as on 26/11 in Mumbai) and the armed forces of his country (as in Pulwama)?

Is he not embarrassed that Pakistan propped up and sponsored Khalistani terrorism on Bharat’s soil claiming the lives of over 50,000 innocent Indians?

I suppose Mr. Naqvi’s embarrassment is another way to express victimhood.  He only feels embarrassed when he can play victim. When 400,000 Kashmiri Hindus are victims, he feels no embarrassment.  When 2.5 Million Bengali Hindus are butchered, no embarrassment. Because he cannot use these to play victim, can he?

PS: Separately, I don’t know who are these multitudes of Muslim poets Naqvi mentions who have penned bhajans for Shri Ram and Shri Krishna.  I am not aware of many.
