Minor girl murdered by adult Muslim boyfriend moments after eloping

17-year-old Neha Vishwakarma was murdered by her ‘boyfriend’ Mohammed Samir Khan (23) moments after leaving her parents’ home on Khan’s allurement of marriage. The reason – Khan was angry at her for not stealing more jewellery and cash from her parents’ home.

Neha lived in a chawl in Dive, near Bhiwandi, district Thane, Maharashtra with her parents while Khan worked in a godown in Dapode. They had been seeing each other for 2 years, but Neha’s parents did not approve of the relationship. So Khan convinced the minor girl to elope with him for marriage.

On the morning of 5th November, Neha went out with her mother for toilet. She had hidden some jewellery and cash on her person. Her mother returned home but Neha did not. Her worried parents then started looking for her, and after finding no trace her father Rajendra Vishwakarma lodged a case of abduction at Narpoli police station.

The next day, police found Neha’s dead body in some bushes behind a petrol pump.

Police traced Khan to his native place in Faizabad, UP from where he was arrested on 7th November. He had strangled Neha to death with her own dupatta after arguing with her for getting less money from her home.
