19-year Dalit Nursing Student Gangraped in Kerala Was a Victim of Love Jihad

Just days after the brutal rape & murder of  30-year-old Dalit law student Jisha, Kerala was rocked by the news of a 19-year old Dalit nursing student being gangraped by three people in an autorickshaw in Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram. 3 men were susbequently arrested by the police for the gangrape – Shafeer (alias Sujith), Rashid and Siju.

This is how media hushes up ‘Secular’ Crimes

Initial media reports regarding this incident mentioned that the girl bunked classes and went to Kollam with an auto-rickshaw driver whom she knew. While returning home, two friends of the auto driver entered the auto. They drove the auto to a deserted area where they raped her. But when it came to the arrests, only a few media houses revealed the names of the culprits. And it was only one Deccan Chronicle report which let the cat out of the bag –

“According to police, the girl accompanied her lover, identified as Shafeer alias Sujith, in an autorickshaw to Kollam on Tuesday morning. Shafeer befriended the girl by hiding his real identity. After spending time together, they returned. On the way, two friends of Shafeer, identified as Siju and Rashid boarded the autorickshaw. Initially, Shafeer allegedly raped her inside the vehicle followed by Siju and Rashid.”

But NDTV, has this to say about the incident and related arrests –

“The teenager, a second year student, had told the police that she was assaulted by her friend Shyju and Sujith in an auto-rickshaw on Tuesday at Varkala near Thiruvananthapuram. Shyju, 24, who owns the autorickshaw, and Sujith, 25, have been taken into custody. “Based on the statement of the girl, we registered a case against three persons. A medical examination has confirmed that she was gangraped,” said police officer Vinod B.”

Their version has made Shyju (likely the same person reported as ‘Siju’ in the Deccan Chronicle report) as the main perpetrator, and does not mention that Sujith is the assumed alias of Shafeer. And they have just left out the name of the 3rd person arrested (Rashid) altogether! This is the way the media mafia operates in Bharat.

Is this Love Jihad?

Love Jihad, also called Romeo Jihad, is an activity under which young Muslim boys and men target young girls belonging to non-Muslim communities for sexual exploitation or marriage and conversion to Islam by feigning love, and often by hiding their real identity. Lets see if this particular case qualifies as Love Jihad –

  • A Muslim boy (Shafeer) befriends a Hindu girl – Yes
  • The Muslim boy adopts a Hindu identity (fake alias Sujith) to deceive Hindu girl – Yes
  • Muslim boy feigns love with an ulterior motive – Yes
  • So is this Love Jihad – Yes

Now, let’s see how the ‘Love Jihad’ deniers provide their spin on this horrible crime. Chances are that they will just choose to ignore (especially since the crime occurred in Marxist/Congress ruled Kerala), or club it with the general ‘violence against women’ narrative that is used to bash Hindu society. The same tactics were used to hush up the case of 23 year Anuja, and national shooter Tara Shahdeo.
