3 arrested for gangrape of minor Hindu girl student in Alwar, Rajasthan

A 15-year old Dalit girl student was abducted while on the way to school and gang-raped by 3 youth in Alwar district of Rajasthan, reports Hindi daily Patrika. 3 men – Taleem Khan, 19, Niyamat Khan, 19, and Chatrapal Jatav, 24 – have been arrested for the heinous gang rape under Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The crime occurred in Bhayadi village of Barodameo police station area. As per the complaint lodged by the girl’s uncle, the class X student had gone to school on 22 January but did not return home till evening. Her family found her lying unconscious in a field near her school.

After she was brought home, she told that Taleem Khan along with 2 of his friends had forced her to sit on a bike after threatening her with a knife. They took her the field, where they raped her one after the other. They hurled casteist abuse at her and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

The families of the accused also threatened to kill the girl’s family or drive them out of the village. The police registered a case and started investigation. On Wednesday, BSP leader Jagat Singh threatened to burn the houses of the accused if they weren’t arrested within 24 hours.

Singh, a former BJP MLA, who is contesting on a BSP ticket for the Ramgarh assembly by-poll election today, said, “I don’t have faith in police because it is Congress government in the state and the Congress candidate from Ramgarh (Shafia Zubair Khan) is also from the community that the accused are from.”

Incidentally, Alwar and Bharatpur districts in Rajasthan are also routinely terrorized by cattle smuggling gangs.
