A tailor, Mohammed Dilshad, has been arrested for the brutal rape and murder of an 18-year-old Dalit girl student in Lakhimpur Kheri, UP. The girl who had stepped out of her home on Monday to fill an online scholarship form for Inter (Class XII) exams never returned home, and her body was found the next morning dumped at a dried-up pond near a sugarcane field.
“Apart from the statement of the accused, the conclusion is also based on scientific evidence such as fingerprints, bloodstained clothes and CCTV footage that has confirmed the crime. A knife has also been recovered based on the information given by him,” said Lakhimpur Kheri SSP Satendar Kumar.
As per a press release by police, the accused Mohd. Dilshad worked at a tailor shop in Behjam village where the girl used to get her clothes stitched. They became friends and started conversing over phone – the day before the crime, the two had called each other 13 times. On Monday, the girl had come to Behjam and when she was returning Dilshad followed her and accosted her at an isolated spot. He claims she agreed to talk to him and they went to the pond. But suddenly, as they were talking, he became angry and raped & then killed her by slitting her throat.
This is most likely yet another crime in a long list of Muslim stalkers murdering non-Muslim girls who reject their advances. Naina Kaur was stabbed to death in broad daylight in front of her parents by her stalker and TikToker Sheru Khan in Ghaziabad, while Shivani Khobiyan was killed by her neighbour and stalker Arif Khan who strangulated her in her own salon.
