Two brothers, Noushad and Navas, arrested for raping their nephews – Kerala

Twin brothers in their mid-thirties, named Noushad and Navas, have been arrested for raping their own elder brothers’ underage boys at Kovalam near Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. They were arrested following a complaint filed by their elder brother’s wife.

Brothers arrested for sodomizing their own nephews

They were raping the kids aged just 5 and 10 for some months now, and the incident came to light only recently. The children used to be entrusted in the custody of the accused, who run a welding workshop near Pachalloor, when the parents went for work. The small children recently informed their mother about the sodomy after which the lady approached the police authorities. Both accused are married. They were remanded after they were produced in the court.

Incidentally, another rape of a 16-year-old girl too surfaced the same day. A local drug peddler named Mohammed Imphal (24) abducted the minor from her home after dark on the 28th of last month. He, along with some other accomplices, assaulted the girl’s grandmother before forcing the girl into a car and driving away.

Sensing that the child’s grandmother would intimate the police, Mohammed swapped the car for a two-wheeler and later raped the girl and left her near Kollam and made good his escape. During routine patrolling on the 3rd of this month, he was arrested while trying to sell drugs near Poovachal.

Police recovered 300 grams of Ganja and Rs. 17,500/- in cash from Mohammed. Police informed that he has other criminal cases pending against his name. Two motorcycles have also been recovered from the accused.

In July, Kerala was stunned when a 50-year-old madrasa teacher was arrested for gang-raping his own daughter along with 6 others over the past two years. The accused Madarsa teacher was a repeat offender who had been arrested for sexually assaulting four minor boys in 2017, but managed to get out on bail. How he managed to continue teaching in the madrasa system again raises questions about the screening and monitoring of thousands of madrasas (Islamic schools) which have mushroomed across Kerala.

Meanwhile, many citizens in Kerala were wondering why their Wayanad MP (Rahul Gandhi) and Thiruvananthapuram MP (Shashi Tharoor) were busy playing politics in Hathras, UP, ignoring the volatile law & order situation in the state they represent in Parliament, where such crimes against children are becoming routine along with corruption scams like the gold smuggling ring (where the finger of suspicion points directly at the CM and his Higher Education Minister) and rampant Islamic radicalisation as seen in arrest of several Kerala youth recently for joining terror outfits like Al-Qaeda and ISIS.

In the Hathras case that gets muddier with each passing day, Tharoor openly admitted that he was there to play politics. The huge entourage which accompanied the Congress leaders also made light of the fact that they were obstructing the health laws of the land during a raging pandemic.

Social media in Kerala was abuzz with netizens asking for their MPs presence when it was needed now. They termed the two as ‘MPs from Kerala who don’t care about Kerala’.
