6 Cattle Smugglers arrested for murdering villager in Gwalior, MP

6 members of a cattle smuggling gang who had murdered village watchman Devilal (53) on the night of 9th July in Bhageh village, district Gwalior, MP, have been arrested by police reports Nai Dunia. After hacking Devilal with an axe and other sharp weapons, the thieves had stolen 4 buffaloes.

A well-coordinated effort by police teams from several police stations managed to bust the gang. Apart from Devilal’s murder, the gang has also confessed to a murderous attack on Aadiram Baghel of Haripur, Dabra town and stealing 3 of his buffaloes. The gang would usually conduct reconnaissance on Tuesday and strike on Wednesday.

Various items like motorcycle, voter ID card, photos, cash etc belonging to the two victims were recovered from the 6 arrested gang members – Monu Khan (23), Amjad Khan (19), Ishtiaq (22), Munabbar Khan, Wahid, Ramniwas. 3 more members of the gang – Sonu Baghel, Sabir Khan, Dina Khan – are currently absconding.

The gang had inter-state links. The buffaloes stolen by them were sold in the Haat Bazar in Mania, Rajasthan.
