Punekars participate in large numbers in blood donation drive by RSS-Jan Kalyan Samiti-Samarth Bharat

In response to the need for blood in the Corona period and the appeal made by the state government, blood donation camps are being organized in the entire Pune by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh – Jan Kalyan Samiti and Samarth Bharat Abhiyan. In the last fifteen days, 1,240 blood bags have been collected from a total of 26 blood donation camps held in eight different parts. More than 600 people have donated plasma because of efforts for plasma donation. It has saved the lives of more than 1,500 critically ill patients.

12 blood banks in Pune provided valuable assistance for organizing these blood donation camps. Responding to the call for blood donation camps, various Ganesh Mandals, Mandir Trusts and their activists, charitable and voluntary organizations, social organizations and activists of various political parties came together and organized the camp with the help of Jan kalyan Samiti and Samarth Bharat.

In collaboration with 12 different blood banks, citizens, especially youth and women, actively participated in the blood donation camp organized at SevaBasti, Nagariy Basti in Pune and helped in preventing blood shortage.

According to experts, the need for blood may increase in the next two months. To fulfill the need of blood in Pune and whole state, the appeal is made to various organizations, mandals, public trusts, social organizations, educational institutions and volunteers of political parties to participate in this blood donation yagna. This appeal is done by Samarth Bharat’s convener Sachin Bhosale and co-coordinator Ravi Shinganapurkar to all Punekars.

Plasma donations saved the lives of more than fifteen hundred patients. Plasma is a boon for some severe corona patients. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Jan kalyan Samiti and Samarth Bharat are conducting an awareness campaign in the entire Pune to voluntarily donate plasma to the citizens who have overcome corona successfully. Patients who have undergone corona are contacted by phone and appealed for plasma donation. So far, more than 600 people have donated plasma in response to these efforts. This plasma donation has saved the lives of more than 1,500 critically ill corona patients.

The Jan kalyan Samiti and Samarth Bharat also said that the youth, doctors, social organizations and their activists are getting valuable support for the contact and appeal of Corona patients.
