Dalit Girl from Mainpuri, UP Abducted, Raped, Forcibly Converted to Islam and Married in Delhi

Cases of love jihad seem to have become a norm in UP. In yet another case, UP police found that a Dalit girl who disappeared two and half months ago was abducted by a Muslim named Junaid living in Delhi. After being forcibly converted to Islam, she was married to Junaid who had held her captive ever since. She has now been rescued by Mainpuri police.

The Mainpuri resident Dalit girl disappeared under mysterious circumstances two and a half months ago. Her mother had lodged an FIR against a friend of her daughter’s regarding her disappearance. The girlfriend in question told police that Etah, UP resident Junaid has abducted the girl.

Police found him by tracing his location on his mobile phone. Local police along with Delhi Police raided localities of Tihari region of Delhi-Haryana border and arrested Junaid, and rescued the girl who was locked up in a room. The girl started sobbing uncontrollably after seeing her mother. She told her mother that she went to Agra with her friend a few months ago. There she met Junaid who was then living in Delhi. They started having frequent conversations after returning from Agra.

She left her house on his say on 24th October. Junaid met her in the way along with his friends and took her to Delhi. She was forcibly converted to Islam in a mosque in Delhi and then she was forcefully married to Junaid. After that, she was held captive in a cell.

Victim’s mother said that her daughter was raped regularly in captivity. As a result, her mental health has deteriorated. Culprits were looking to sell the girl for human trafficking. Police has taken Junaid into custody. Due to poor metal health, statement of the victim has not been recorded yet. Station’s SSI Sudesh Pal has said that further action will be taken according to victim’s statement.
