Eight-Year-Old Allegedly Raped In Mosque On Eid

An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Meerut in Uttar Pradesh on Eid. The minor was lured away by the accused, Shahid, who took her to the roof of a nearby mosque and raped her, Dainik Jagran has reported.

The girl’s father runs a mobile shop in Ghaziabad and had come to visit his family in Meerut on the occasion of Eid. As per the girl’s uncle, all members of the family were out for namaz in different mosques when the accused lured the minor to the roof of a nearby mosque and raped her. Some people found the girl in a dishevelled condition and brought her home.

The accused was beaten up by a mob of angry residents and handed over to the police. The locals alleged that four months back, Shahid had tried to rape a 7-year-old in the same mosque but was caught. Shahid’s father Kallu Thekedar is a rich person who bribed the police to hush up the matter, they alleged. Nauchandi Station Officer Brajesh Kumar said that in the previous case the girl’s parents had refused to lodge a complaint.

This comes just weeks after a minor girl student was raped in the hostel of the famous madrassa Shamsul Uloom Niswa in Mau, UP by none other than the madrassa administrator’s brother. And in April, a ten-year-old girl was kidnapped & raped in a Ghaziabad madrassa by a 17-year-old madrassa student and the madrassa’s maulvi.

In another incident reported from Meerut on the eve of Eid, 3 brothers – Imran, Rizwan and Asan – stabbed to death Arshad (50) who had opposed the continuous sexual harassment of his 16-year-old daughter by Imran.
