Journalist brutally beaten up by Punjab Police

The Congress which often keeps preaching about press freedom, freedom of speech and expression and every other freedom it can think of to target the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) government both at the center and in states where the party is in power, is oblivious to their violations in states where its own party is in power.

Local channels have reported the brutality with which a journalist was beaten up by the Punjab police at Mohali. The police went to the extent of pulling off his turban which is an insult to a true Sikh. The victim has been identified as Journalist Major Singh who is currently receiving treatment at a Mohali hospital.

Shaheed Bhagat Singh Press Association has strongly condemned this act and refused to cover police events till such time the Punjab Police punishes those involved. Neither the Congress party not the Editor’s guild have come forward to condemn this act.
