A Muslim mob attacked Hindus and police during a Muharram procession on Sunday in Thakurganj, Bihar. Two men suffered sword wounds, two police personnel were injured (one critically) during stone pelting by the mob, and a lot of Hindu property was damaged. The mob stormed into a temple complex, vandalized the premises and thrashed the temple pujari. They also tried to snatch a rifle from a Home Guard constable.
SSB jawans had to be called out to control the mob. All senior officials of police and administration are camped in Thakurganj and the situation remains tense. The mob could not be restrained even despite the efforts of the local MLA Sarfraz Alam.
SI Vipin Kumar was injured critically in stone pelting, while Inspector Rajesh Tiwari also received injuries. The mob damaged several Hindu houses in Pyazpatti and Mallahpatti – Ram Mandal and Ramesh Chaudhari were injured in the assault by the sword-wielding Muharram processioners.
The procession went from Karbala maidan to Jokihat bazaar, landing lathi blows on shops and homes all the while, as administration watched helplessly. They also attacked house in Tatma Toli.
The mob broke the lock of a temple compound, and vandalized the temple. They entered pujari Muralidhar Sharma’s house and beat him up. A home guard jawan stationed there ran off as the mob was trying to snatch his rifle.
All the residents of the area are scared after the events of Sunday. They are demanding that the Muharram procession not be allowed through this area again.

Such incidents of ‘mob violence’ on Hindus during religious festivals are quite common. And what is also common is the administration’s kid gloves treatment of the rioters – because they know that the entire secular political-NGO-civil society-legal lynch mob will descend on them like a ton of bricks if any tough action is taken.
It is time that police is equipped with more riot control measures like in Kashmir, because frankly, the same mindset displayed by stone-pelters in the valley exists in multiple Muslim pockets across the country.
Also, how long will Hindus continue to be bystanders as their way of life and existence is threatened by such extremists within the ‘minority community’?

They had done same in katihar,perhaps some hindus are killed too.but none is reporting.
A mini “ghazwa” by the momineen (believers) against the cursed Kafirs. Just copying their prophet, as usual, who was master of such ghazwas against the helpless Kafirs of Arabia, who were killed, enslaved, and converted, one by one.
