Muslim man attempts rape, murders maid in Greater Noida, UP

The owner of a flat in AVJ Heights society of Greater Noida has been arrested for attempted rape and murder of a maid, Garima, reports Patrika.

Mumtaz, owner of flat 1804 on the 18th floor, had called Garima to his house on 2nd November under the pretext of getting her a job. When she arrived, he tried to rape her which Garima resisted. Enraged, Mumtaz hit her on the head with a belan (roller) rendering her unconscious.

After this, he locked the flat and went away. Due to excessive bleeding, the unconscious woman died. Later, the accused cleaned up the flat and stored the dead body in his bed box.

Early the next morning, around 4 AM, the accused threw Garima’s body from his 18th floor flat and fled the city. Later, police identified the dead woman as Garima, resident of Khoda colony.

Nine days later, Mumtaz was arrested from his native village Chatapur in Supaul district of Bihar and sent to jail.
