A Muslim woman threw acid on her young Hindu neighbor after a dispute over cattle between the two in Bulandshahr, UP, reports Dainik Jagran.
As per the report, the Hindu girl was bathing her cattle outside her home when one of the cows ran near the Muslim woman’s house. Following this, an argument broke out between the two, and the woman flung acid on the girl. The girl is currently receiving treatment at the District Hospital.
The girl, identified as Aarti, is a resident of Bibinagar. At around 2 PM she was bathing her cattle when one of the cows ran away and stopped outside the residence of a Muslim washerman family close by.
One of the women of the washerman’s family was washing clothes and had acid handy. When the girl came to take back her cow, the two got into an argument and the woman attacked the girl with the acid kept nearby.
The girl received burns on her feet. Hearing her cries, her family members arrived on the scene and rushed her to a local hospital. The family was referred to the District Hospital where Aarti was later admitted.
On receiving information about the incident, the local police arrived and took the accused woman into custody. Additional forces were deployed in the area due to heightened tensions.
As per available information, a formal complaint is yet to be launched by the victim. The police have also refused to divulge any further details until the ongoing investigation is completed.
