Muslim youth arrested for molesting girls enroute to Dharmic discourse, comes out on bail & leads mob attack on Hindu family

A Muslim youth was arrested last Thursday in Agra, UP for sexually harassing some girls who were going to listen to Shrimad Bhagwat Katha (a Hindu religious discourse), and then assaulting a Hindu youth who tried to stop him.

The accused, Younis, was sent to jail but got out on bail the very next day, reports Patrika.com. On Friday night, he led a mob attack on the house of retired railway station master Omprakash Singh where the Katha was being held, and assaulted and fired upon the family. The accused fled after police rushed to the spot.

The incident occurred in Kuthwali village, Malpura police station area, district Agra. When Younis, son of Ramzani, molested the girls going to listen to Katha on Thursday morning, the girls started shouting. Hearing the commotion, a youth from the Singh family where the Katha was being organized, came to the spot and opposed Younis’s actions. Younis beat up the youth and fled from the spot, after which villagers informed police and he was arrested from his house.

On Friday, Younis was sent to jail, but immediately got bail. On late Friday night, at around 1.30 AM (early Saturday), Younis and his associates arrived at Omprakash Singh’s house armed with lathis, firearms and other weapons. They started assaulting the family members and even opened fire. The sound of shots being fired created a sensation in the whole village and police was called.

Police again raided Younis’ house and this time picked up his brother for questioning. Authorities said the case is being investigated.
