Now, radical Maulana Sajjad Nomani of AIMPLB gets stage at Singhu protest site

All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) spokesperson Maulana Sajjad Nomani on Monday said that the ongoing farmers protest happening in the country has ‘brought the light of hope against injustice’.

While addressing the farmers at the Singhu border, he said, “Several organizations in the country are trying to create awareness against the injustice in the country. The farmer’s movement is bringing a ray of hope from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.”

Nomani added, “You people have realized that enough is enough and have now decided to raise your voice against it. I thank your leadership in this. Our faith is restored that the country’s darkness will fade and justice is just miles away.”

Nomani has been supporting the farmers’ protest since its inception through his YouTube channel. He said, “On behalf of the Muslim community, I will promise you that we are with you. I want to say that don’t lose hope and continue the protest .”

Earlier, Muslim clerics from Ludhiana, Punjab have also spewed anti-Modi and anti-Yogi invective from the stage at Singhu border and abused ‘Godi media’.

AIMPLB and Nomani

AIMPLB is an influential non-governmental Muslim body, which claims to represent the interests of Indian Muslims. It was founded in 1973 to ensure Muslim personal law in Bharat remains frozen in time and continues to follow sharia (Islamic law). This Islamist organisation even supports inhuman customs like Triple Talaq and Nikah Halala – triple talaq is banned even in fanatical Islamic nations like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia! They have already issued a warning to courts and legislature against any move to ‘impose’ UCC (Uniform Civil Code).

AIMPLB represents most Muslim sects, excluding Ahmadis. Its members include prominent Muslim religious leaders and scholars from Deoband seminary, Jamaat -e- Islami Hind, Jamiatul Ulama-e-Hind; lawyers, politicians like Asaduddin Owaisi and PFI founder E. Abubacker, and other professionals. Even though unelected, it is safe to say that AIMPLB exercises a significant hold on the Indian Muslim mind.

On the eve of the Bhoomi-Poojan at Ayodhya for the Ram Mandir, AIMPLB had threatened Hindus with future retribution and reminded Muslims of Hagia Sophia (recently converted into a mosque by Turkish autocrat Erdogan) to allude that they would seize the Ram Mandir site again in the future. The Supreme Court judgement was dismissed as ‘unjust, oppressive, shameful and majority appeasing’.

Maulana Sajjad Nomani is a graduate of radical Sunni Islamic seminaries like Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama and Darul Uloom Deoband. He is also a Sufi teacher of Naqshbandi order.

He has in the past been booked for hate speech and sedition for a speech he made in 2018 during the general council meeting of the AIMPLB in Hyderabad. In that speech, he said that “RSS had given arms training to its workers and that arms had been made available to them in all the districts”. The cleric could be seen telling Muslims that “their fate would be worse than that of Rohingya Muslims if they did not wake up to the situation”.

Nomani has also been active with other hate-spreading, anti-Hindu organisations like BAMCEF (Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation) which purportedly fight against ‘Manuvad and Brahminvad’, and plant hate in young minds with fake history like ‘Peshwas colluded with Aurangzeb to kill Sambhaji Maharaj’.
