Shocking case of serial groomer Nur Islam aka ‘Biplob Roy’ emerges from Kolkata

Love Jihad or Grooming Jihad is a burning issue in West Bengal reports Bengali news site bangodesh.com. The most recent incident took place at Madhumancha Apartment, Peerless Avenue near Malancha cinema in the heart of Kolkata.

The 25-year-old daughter of a professor got married to an imposter Nur Islam who assumed a fake identity to call himself Biplab Roy and hide his actual name and religion on social media.

Using this fake Hindu Brahmin identity on Facebook, Islam sweet talked and lured multiple Hindu girls usually from relatively well-off families  for marriage and sexual exploitation. In this case, he got in touch with the professor’s wife through Facebook and informed her that he was in search of a decent girl to marry and claimed he was a lawyer by profession.

The professor’s wife gave the proposal of her own daughter’s hand for marriage. Nur Islam gained the family’s faith and even wore a fake sacred thread (kalava) to convince the family and sent several pictures of himself through Facebook messenger. He said that he wanted to get married before 17th of November during the Puja vacation as he had other official commitments to meet later. Quick arrangements were made from the girl’s side within a very short time, although the bride’s brother was against this marriage from the very beginning.

But Nur Islam somehow managed the whole situation and the marriage took place on the 13th of November at the Kalighat temple. Islam received a gold chain and a gold ring as wedding gifts.

But within a few days, his behavior changed drastically. Sensing something wrong, the mother of the bride sent her son and his friend to gather some information about Biplab Roy aka Nur Islam. Islam showed his rented house at Behala 14 no. bus stand from a distance. When the bride’s brother and his friend questioned Nur he said that he has some issues with his family members because of which he stays at this rented place and not at his parental home. Furthermore he stated that it was his niece’s birthday and so he would not be able to take them to his parental home.

After a couple of days Nur Islam went totally incommunicado and stopped interacting with his newly wedded wife and her family.

On the other hand, Nur started building a new relationship with another Hindu girl who was in fact his newly wedded wife’s cousin sister! Soon the cousin sister realised that the same person had married her sister. Nur Islam initially could not understand the whole issue but after realising, he slowly detached himself from the cousin sister.

But the cousin sister contacted her brothers to take revenge against Nur Islam. They got in touch with Hindu Samaj Kalyan Samiti, an apolitical organisation. With the help of Mr. Raju Dewan, an active worker of the organisation, they hatched a plan.

According to the plan, the cousin sister asked her friend to contact Nur Islam through Facebook. Islam proposed this girl, who resides in Hooghly, too for marriage.

On 28 November, Islam asked the girl to meet him at Tikiapara, Howrah and asked the girl to accompany him to a hotel to try and force her into a physical relationship. According to the plan, the volunteers of Hindu Samaj Kalyan Samiti and the family members of the girl caught Nur Islam red-handed. They handed him over to the police officers of Chatterjeehat police station who arrested Islam. On checking Nur Islam’s Aadhar Card, police came to know that he is a resident of East Midnapore, near Mecheda. Nur Islam confessed during police interrogation that he has ‘married’ 5 times. Police is yet to ascertain his profession.

This incident reiterates the fact that every day, Hindu girls become the victim of Grooming Jihad. Uttar Pradesh, MP, Haryana and Karnataka governments are making strict laws to prevent these kind of heinous crimes. The netizens on social media are voicing their concern over such unlawful practices and almost all of them have demanded exemplary punishment for Nur Islam.
