Tamil Nadu’s Towheed Jamaat Protests Against ‘Palestine Like Genocide’ by Modi Government in Kashmir

The Tamil Nadu Towheed Jamaat party held a demonstration in Chennai on July 20 demanding ‘Free Kashmir’, and raising slogans against the Government of Bharat’s recent actions to control the separatist protests in Kashmir. Placards like ‘Modi Government! Stop Palestine like Genocide’ were seen in the massive rally.

This shows the deepening nexus of anti-Bharat forces across the country. The Islamist radicalization by outfits like Towheed Jamaat is evident in the global Ummah rhetoric which paints two completely separate issues of Palestine and Kashmir with the same Muslim victimhood brush. Half the people who participate in such rallies would not even be aware of the brutal religious cleansing of Kashmiri Hindus, and the other half just would not care as Muslim brotherhood trumps everything else for them, even national interest. If organizations like Towheed Jamaat are not the enemy within, then what is? Have we learnt no lessons from partition?

Predictably, Pakistani media picked up on this Towheed Jamat rally which bolsters their case that Kashmir is under ‘occupation’, whereas there was predictable censorship about this rally in Bharat’s mainstream media as their psuedo-secular editorial guidelines mandate that any factual reporting which shows any Muslim organizaton in a bad light must be avoided as far as possible.

And the rally in Chennai is not an isolated incident. Congress’ coalition partner IUML (Indian Union Muslim League – the successor of Jinnah’s Muslim League) from Kerala is also chiming in to demand revocation of AFSPA at a time when the security forces are grappling with deadly street protests where grenade throwing terrorists are using the civilian crowds as shields.

Incidentally, the controversial Towheed Jamaat was in the news some time back when they had organized a Hinduphobic ‘Anti-shirk’ conference. Another Tamil Nadu based radical Muslim Party called ‘Indian National League’ had asked for death penalty to homosexuals after the Orlando jihadi mass shooting in US. This is what common citizens had to say on the worrying development in Chennai.

With Islamists across the country finding common cause against the nation, how could the Marxist/communist organizations stay behind? A massive rally was recently organised in Kolkata by Left-backed organisations comprising of students and other members of rights groups to protest against the Kashmir violence.

The protesters raised slogans like, ‘Kashmir maange azaadi, Manipur maange azaadi’. A large number of the participants were from various colleges and universities of the state, while many academics, rights activists or even supporters of specific political parties, including the ruling party, could also be seen.

With the chief opposition parties in the country like Congress laying the blame on the Government for the unrest in the valley, and underplaying the role of Pakistan in inciting the current situation despite enough evidence for the same, the signs are truly ominous.

Truly, Kashmir is a test case for whether we are truly a ‘secular’ republic – the forces which are advocating ‘azadi’ for Kashmir without so much as batting an eyelid for the Kashmiri Hindus who were expelled from the valley, must be defeated at all costs if Bharat has to survive and grow.
