Teenage Dalit Girl Drugged & Raped by Neighbour Gulab Ali (35) in Etah, UP

The Etah Police on Friday arrested a man for allegedly raping a minor girl, Times of India has reported. Identified as Gulab Ali (35), the accused was arrested by Aliganj police, two days after victim lodged an FIR against him.

According to police, the accused and the victim are neighbour in Aliganj town. “On Wednesday afternoon Gulab Ali invited me at his home for lunch, as his family was celebrating a local festival. I joined for food, but after the lunch, I lost conscious and woke up in evening without clothes on my body in Ali’s bedroom. I was having severe abdominal pain, while Ali was in front of me,” said the 16-year-old victim.

Based on a written complaint of the victim, Aliganj police booked Gulab under IPC sections 376 (rape), 328 (Causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), 3(5) 2 SC / ST act and POCSO.

The victim’s brother said, “Gulab sedated my sister, as he laced her food with intoxicants. We also found pills in his room when we went to his home to confront him.”

Ajay Bhadauria, circle officer of Aliganj said, “The victim’s family claimed that Gulab had raped their daughter for nearly four hours while the family kept on searching for her in nearby places. After the FIR, the girl was sent for medical examination.”

DSP Bhadauria said, “Though, the girl claimed to have been raped, but the accused, during interrogation denied the sexual abuse. We will now present the accused to magistrate and send him to jail.”
