Vice President Venkaiah Naidu to address 2nd World Hindu Congress at Chicago

Vice President of Bharat, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, will address the 2nd World Hindu Congress (WHC) being held in Chicago, the Ministry of External Affairs announced today.

WHC organizers today announced that attendance goals for the conference have been smashed, with more than 2,500 delegates and 220 eminent speakers confirmed for this year’s iteration.

Convening September 7-9 at The Westin Hotel in the Yorktown Shopping Center, Lombard, IL, the WHC 2018 is also celebrating the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Parliament of Religions speech in Chicago in 1893. Upon completion of WHC deliberations, the Honorable Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of the Republic of Bharat, will participate in a special ceremony to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Swamiji’s Chicago speech.

“The 2018 World Hindu Congress will be a landmark event,” said WHC Coordinator Dr. Abhaya Asthana. “We are primed and eager to host an unprecedented convergence of Hindu leadership unified in purpose: To connect, share ideas, inspire one another, and impact the common good. The WHC provides a unique opportunity for participants to exchange ideas on a global stage and draws upon expertise of speakers from a wide range of fields and backgrounds.”

Featuring seven parallel conferences that will explore economics, education, media, politics, women, youth and organizations, the WHC 2018 will feature prominent speakers such as economist Dr. Arvind Panagariya, academic Dr. Makarand Paranjape, author Amish Tripathi, and Grammy-nominated artist and entrepreneur Chandrika Tandon.

Additionally, there will be poster presentations at the event that includes 55 posters from various Hindu Leaders and Researchers on topics such as Non-Violence: Our Greatest Gift to the World and Hindu Culture and Life-style studies.
