BJP will have me killed by my own Personal Security Officer: Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has once again expressed fear of his impending assassination at the hands of the BJP. This time he claimed that as Delhi police reports to the BJP-led central Government, they will get him murdered by his PSO (Personal Security Officer), similar to how Indira Gandhi was assassinated.

Arvind Kejriwal is the President of Aam Aadmi Party, launched 6 years back. AAP is in power in only 1 out of 36 States & Union territories in the country, i.e. the Union Territory of Delhi, which as the nation’s capital is jointly administered by the central government of Bharat and the local government of Delhi.

Apart from Delhi, AAP has a minor presence in Punjab where it has 18 MLAs out of total 117. In Parliament, it has 4 Lok Sabha and 3 Rajya Sabha MPs.

Despite being such a bit player in the overall scheme of things, Arvind Kejriwal is touted as a credible ‘national leader’ by his supporters in the national media & Lutyens’ establishment. In the 2014 elections, he was even talked about as a potential PM by certain ‘experts’.

AAP’s 6 year history has seen more turbulence, ideological U-turns and ugly falling-outs at the highest levels, compared to what an ordinary political party experiences in a lifetime.

In the ongoing Lok Sabha election, AAP’s central plank has been a demand for full statehood to Delhi. Having been formed on the back of the anti-corruption movement which swept the country after mega scams of Congress-led UPA Government, in a startling volte-face AAP is now firmly in the Congress-led secular camp and desperately tried to formalize an alliance with Congress before the ongoing elections. Recently, Kejriwal admitted that “Muslim votes shifted to Congress in Delhi at last moment, this will hurt AAP.”

In the past too, he has claimed Modi & BJP can get him and other AAP workers killed. He has also called the PM a coward, psychopath, and an ‘ISI Agent’.

Faced with political irrelevance, except in certain TV studios, it seems that Arvind Kejriwal’s megalomania and paranoia will only get worse.
