BJP worker Avijit Sarkar lynched to death by TMC hoodlums

BJP worker Avijit Sarkar, who had taken to Facebook (FB) to share his harrowing experience of TMC (Trinamool Congress) violence on May 2, was lynched to death by TMC goons barely hours after Mamata Banerjee’s party won the West Bengal (WB) assembly elections.

The goons of TMC unleashed horrors by targeting BJP workers in the state. Sarkar recounted his harrowing experience in the video uploaded by him. OpIndia says:

“I don’t know how to come live (on Facebook). They hurled bombs right in front of my eyes and vandalized my house and the party office. My only mistake is that I am a BJP worker.,” Sarkar recounted.

Avijit Sarkar had informed that he was a dog-lover and had adopted several street dogs, which he found on the streets in a helpless state. Pointing towards his dog, “I had brought her from Sealdah. She had given birth to some puppies. They slaughtered the puppies mercilessly.” The BJP worker broke down into tears.

In a subsequent video, a teary-eyed Avijit Sarkar narrated, “They are destroying my house, NGO office – one after the other. Look at my dogs. She had given birth to 5 beautiful puppies. I had uploaded their pictures on Facebook.” He said that the attack took place in Ward no. 30 in the Beleghata neighborhood in Kolkata under the supervision of TMC leaders Paresh Paul and Swapan Samandar.

“They destroyed my house, right in the presence of Narkeldanga police officials. They thrashed my innocent puppies to death. Aara ki Manush? (Are they even humans?) I don’t know how to come live. I am informing everyone (about my ordeal) through this video. Why are they committing atrocities on me? I don’t mind if anyone supports any political party or wins the election. But they are ruthlessly destroying my house, and NGO office,” he concluded.

“They killed my puppies,” he said in a video he uploaded on Facebook moments before his death. “I had brought her from Sealdah. She had given birth to some puppies. They slaughtered the puppies mercilessly.” There was an attack on his house and the NGO he ran. And all he could think of at that moment when his own life was under threat, was that the mob has slaughtered his puppies.

It has come to light that Sarkar was lynched to death after he uploaded both the videos on FB. Sarkar belonged to Ward 30 at Beleghata in Kolkata. In his video, Sarkar also clarified in his video that TMC leaders Paresh Paul and Swapan Samandar were responsible for the attack. Sarkar’s death is testimony to the intolerance of Mamata Banerjee and her party’s hoodlums.

Sarkar was an ordinary BJP worker who was murdered only because he was opposed to Banerjee and yet ‘Sanghis’ are portrayed as ‘monsters’. Avijit Sarkar was a simple human and an animal lover which is amply apparent from his video. Sarkar paid a very heavy price for believing in an ideology and supporting a party that is at variance with the so-called seculars.

BJP workers and supporters had expressed fears of their lives and livelihood coming under threat if Banerjee emerged victorious. In the violence unleashed by Mamata’s goons, BJP offices were attacked and even BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari who defeated Mamata Banerjee was assaulted.
