Death chants for PM, threats to emulate Indira assassination – farmer protests or Khalistani march?

Protests in Punjab over the recent farm sector reforms spilled over to the Punjab-Haryana, Haryana-Delhi border as protestors aim to congregate in the national capital Delhi and bring things to a standstill. However some disturbing sloganeering and statements by protestors indicate that the underlying motivation could be more disturbing than previously thought.

In one video from the protests, a demonstrator is heard threatening that PM Modi will meet the same fate as Indira Gandhi – the ex-PM was shot dead by her Sikh personal guards in 1984 in retaliation for the storming of the Golden Temple where many terrorists under leadership of the radical separatist cleric/leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale was holed up.

“December 3 ko meeting hai, agar hal koi hua toh thik hai nahin toh…aap jaante nahin…hamare shaheed Udham Singh ne goro ko Canada me jake thoka…Indira thok di…Modi ki chhati mein…(If the meeting scheduled on December 3 doesn’t find a solution…you know…our martyr Udham Singh had hit the whites in Canada….we had killed Indira…we will riddle Modi’s chest),” the protestor threatened.

Udham Singh was a freedom fighter of the Ghadar Party who had killed British colonial official Michael O’Dwyer in London, UK.

Death chants for the PM have been heard in at least two different videos from the protests – here and in the one below where a child can be seen leading the death chants against both the PM and Haryana CM ML Khattar

“Modi teri kabr khudegi, aaj nahin to kal khudegi…Khattar teri kabr khudegi, aaj nahin to kal khudegi…..Modi mar gaya, hai hai (Modi’s grave will be dug, if not today then tomorrow…Khattar’s grave will be dug, if not today then tomorrow…death to Modi),the child chanted with the crowd following him.

The slogans have chilling similarity to the murderous chants heard in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), a university which was one of the fountainheads of the two-nation theory, during the violent anti-CAA protests- “Hindutva ki kabr khudegi, AMU ki dharti par (Hindutva’s grave will be dug on AMU’s soil).”

Another old demonstrator was heard hailing Pakistani PM Imran Khan as a ‘friend’ while calling those sitting in Delhi (Modi) as an enemy.

Other ‘farmers’ in these protests have been seen holding up Bhindranwale photos –

Khalistan 2020

The Khalistan movement died out in the 90s. However, in the last few years, Pakistan’s notorious spy agency ISI has been working hard to revive it among the Sikh community abroad, especially in the UK, USA, and Canada. In 2018, a small ISI-backed separatist group calling itself “Sikhs for Justice” (SFJ) organized a protest in London calling for a referendum in 2020 in Punjab for carving out the independent nation of Khalistan.

Interestingly, this demand for Khalistan does not include the heart of the Sikh empire founded by the great Maharaja Ranjit Singh, which falls in today’s Pakistan and Afghanistan with Lahore as its capital! Both Pakistan and their stooges in the Sikh diaspora overseas are silent on this glaring miss. The Khalistanis also silent over the brutal persecution of Sikhs and other minorities in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Intelligence agencies had already warned law enforcement in Delhi that the banned SFJ group had given a call to farmers to raise “Khalistan flags” on November 26 at India Gate, to coincide with the gruesome 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks by Pakistani terror group LeT. SFJ lead terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has claimed the 26/11 attacks were carried out by the ‘Indian deep state’.

Khalistani elements have become hyper-active in recent months in alignment with the goal of holding the Khalistan 2020 referendum – pro-Khalistan slogans appeared overnight in several Hoshiarpur villages recently,

Clearly, these farmer protests been hijacked by fringe Khalistani elements to fulfil their nefarious designs.

Punjab’s Congress CM adds fuel to fire

The Congress govt in Punjab led by Capt. Amarinder Singh is playing a dangerous game in all this. First, Singh allowed these protestors to completely stall rail transport in Punjab through Rail Roko blockades, and jam highways. Now, he and his party are pushing these protestors into Delhi to try and bring the capital to a standstill and create another Shaheen Bagh like situation.

Amarinder Singh had also opposed the CAA legislation using a bizarre argument that the law was anti-Jewish as it did not include Jews (there are barely 200 Jews left in Pakistan, all of whom can fly to Israel in one flight if they so desire) in the list of refugees offered fast-track citizenship in Bharat.

Singh also got into a war of words with his Haryana counterpart, demanding why farmers were not being allowed free passage to Delhi, causing the normally phlegmatic Khattar to ask Singh to stop playing politics, stop evading his calls and to stop spreading lies that MSP (Minimum Support Price) support will no longer be available to farmers.

The farm reforms introduced by the centre in the form of 3 bills aims to provide farmers more choices for their produce and ends the monopoly of APMCs. The APMC middlemen lobby is especially strong in Punjab, where the middlemen called arhatiyas still handle MSP payments whereas the rest of the country has moved to DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) for these payments to farmers!

This thread succinctly answers most of the questions and propaganda around these reforms. In fact, analysts have found that MSP skews farming choices and pushes farmers away from traditional crop rotation and higher-value crops. Contrary to what many would believe, data shows that farmers in Bihar (a state which repealed APMC in 2006 and has a relatively insignificant level of public procurement operations) generates Rs. 4236 income per hectare for farmers, 23% more than Rs. 3448 per hectare in Punjab.

It is no wonder that these politically inflamed farmer protests are chiefly concentrated in Punjab and farmers from other parts of the country (whether North/South/East/West) are by & large happy with the reforms which give them greater freedom to sell their produce.

But as Congress has shown during CAA, Article 370 repeal or any other policy/reform measure introduced by the current government, national interest or the good of the people is the last thing on their minds. Clawing their way back to power and installing their revered first family at the helm for all eternity is the only thing that matters for them.

Stoking the Khalistan fire in the guise of farmer protests is just the latest front opened by BreakingIndia forces and their enablers like Congress and Left-liberals in the war agains the civilisational nation state of Bharat.
