‘The Hindu’ editor, Dravidian handles spread conspiracy theories to target PM Modi over Galwan

Dravidian handles on Twitter including G Sampath, Social Affairs Editor of The Hindu newspaper, are using the sacrifice of soldiers of the Bihar Regiment in the recent Galwan valley face-off with Chinese troops to spread all kinds of propaganda.

One propaganda is that the Modi government sacrificed these soldiers from the Bihar regiment for political gains in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections – this seems to have been first started by Sampath, who has now deactivated his account –

Congress ally DMK continued its double-speak much like the national party. While DMK President Stalin claimed to stand firmly behind the government in the current face-off with China, the party’s official news channel  Kalaignar Seithigal was singing a different tune.

The claims made by the anchor ranged from ridiculous to absurd and even delusional. He links the Galwan clash with abrogation of Article 370 and splitting of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) and Ladakh. According to the anchor, when Bharat decided to constitute J&K and Ladakh into two Union Territories and ‘declared them to be a part of Bharat’, China decided to capture this area.

He then goes on to say that although BJP government under AB Vajpayee was making oral promises of abrogating the article they never implemented it after taking the view of the opposition into consideration. However, PM Modi is furthering the agenda of RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) and BJP and by doing so has put the entire country in peril by removing Article 370.

What comes next is stuff that Tamil propaganda movies are made of. The anchor goes on to claim that PM Modi has entered into an informal deal with Israel to ‘settle Jews in Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh’. Many Jews from America wish to relocate due to the political scenario there and hence the Bharatiya PM has agreed to make Ladakh and Himachal available to the Jews.

This was the main reason to announce Ladakh as a Union Territory. He also makes unverified claims of 8000-10000 Jews having bought land and settled down in Himachal Pradesh. This has been done in the hope that Israel would come to Bharat’s rescue if China attacks it as the life of Jews would be in peril. The main intention of the Modi government to settle Jews in Himachal, Ladakh, and Kashmir was to put the onus of guarding these places against Chinese attack on Israel. Having learned of this plan by Modi, the Chinese decided to attack and capture parts of Ladakh.

One doesn’t even know where to begin to counter such deranged propaganda. How does one explain to such specimen that the Modi govt. hasn’t ‘declared’ that Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh belong to Bharat – all of that territory, along with Aksai Chin and Pakistan Occupied Jammu & Kashmir are all parts of Bharat, which is the official position of the Bharatiya State and accepted by all Governments till date, not just Modi’s.

Dravidians have been trying to use events such as the abrogation of Article 370, the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act, and the Galwan face-off to further their divisive politics and hate Modi campaign. But such crazy conspiracy theories don’t come as a surprise anymore seeing how dynasty acolytes like Col. (retd) Ajai Shukla have claimed in the past that Pulwama attack was carried out by ISI to assist Modi in winning the 2019 election, or how ’26/11 – RSS conspiracy’ theory was spread by Islamists, Congressis (Digvijay Singh), and Bollywood chatterati (Mahesh Bhatt).
