In yet another instance of Kanwariyas being attacked by fanatics of the ‘minority’ community, women & girl devotees of Bhagwan Shiv taking part in the annual kanwar pilgrimage were pelted with stones on Monday as they passed in front a mosque in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur.

Muzaffarpur (West) SDM Anil Kumar Das informed Dainik Bhaskar that prior to this attack, some people had been beaten up in the same area on Sunday when they were making an announcement about some religious program. After that incident, the authorities had organized peace meetings with representatives of both Hindu & Muslim communities, yet the female kanwariyas were attacked on Monday.

Some locals claimed that anti-national slogans were also raised while the stones were being pelted.

Like every other Hindu festival involving public festivities, the annual Kanwar Yatra is unfailingly targeted each year – ranging from murderous physical attacks by Islamist, to intellectual attacks designed to  denigrate and ridicule launched by communists, faux liberals and evangelical Christians.

This year, other than this stone pelting in Muzaffarpur, some other incidents of Kanwariyas being attacked or intimidated this year are listed below:

• 2 Kanwariyas beaten up by Arif and Riyaz for chanting ‘Bol Bom’ in Jaunpur, UP

• Hindus of a Bareilly village are contemplating leaving their village due to targeted harassment, with Muslims reportedly objecting to even allow Kanwariyas to pass through the village. Terror groups like Indian Mujahideen have even threatened to ‘blow up’ Bareilly railway station if kanwariyas pass through ‘Muslim dominated’ areas of the city.

Such is the Islamist hate for Hindu festivals that even those Muslims who participate in such festivities with their Hindu brethren in celebration of the universal divine are not spared. Yet, our liberals routinely side with the Islamist & Christian evangelical bigots in bashing Hindu festivals, while maintaining a studied silence on the real danger to the pluralistic, Dharma-aligned Bharatiya society, posed by the exclusivist and supremacist Abrahamic religious bigots.

Notwithstanding these threats, the ordinary Hindu, most belonging to the ‘oppressed’ SC/OBC communities, comes out in droves every year for the gruelling Kanwar Yatra pilgrimage. And despite the utmost attempts of deracinated liberal elite to demonize and caricaturize these Hindu pilgrims, the truth is there for all to see –

More than 1 Cr Kanwariyas were on the streets, but not even a single incident of communal violence, this after they received threats from IM & stones pelted on them in Muzaffarpur!
