Many cultures erased in efforts to adopt Islamic identity, South Asia great example: Pakistani ex-Muslim

A one-minute clip from an interview with Sarah Haider, a Pakistani ex-Muslim now living in USA who has founded the group ‘Ex-Muslims of North America‘, goes a long way in dispelling the delusions many in Bharat continue to harbor about Pakistan and the role of Islam in Pakistani life.

Here is a transcript of the above video clip –

“There are many countries & cultures that have been taken over by Islam and their own cultural histories have been erased. And South Asia is a great example of that. Compare India and Pakistan side by side…its the same people, different religions. They had the same culture, shared the same values..and how much that has changed. You can see religion’s effect on that very clearly.

I think that is a very unfortunate thing. I talk to people who are Pakistanis. I say “Look at the beauty of this culture that has been erased”, and the harms which would have gone away over time but never did, because they were also reinforced, to some extent by religion. The music, the dancing, the clothes…it all became a little more Islamic and everything changed.

I want people to feel sorrowful that that happened, that those histories are being erased. Maybe coming back to that identity is a step forward in a way that a Muslim atheist identity isn’t.”

This simple fact is hidden from us by the elites of Bharat who are mostly part of the Congress ecosystem. It is because of this ignorance which an ordinary Bharatiya suffers from, that a Mani Shankar Aiyer can lobby for better ties with Pakistan with a straight face, or a Shah Rukh Khan can say “Pakistan is a great neighbor to have”.

Now that insiders like Sarah Haider, who have grown up as Pakistani Muslims, are telling us how non-Islamic identity has been erased, will we still continue to bury our head in the sand? Will we still scoff at those who say Hindu civilization has shrunk considerably due to sustained attacks from Islamic invaders, and that the Islamist mindset continues to pose a clear & existential threat to us?

Can we deny that this erasure of cultures and native identities in order to adopt an Islamic (pan-Arabic) identity is occurring before our very eyes within Bharat as well – in Kashmir, Bengal, Kerala etc?  How much longer will we believe the lies fed to us in the name of the mythical Ganga-Jamuna tehzeeb/syncretic culture, which is nothing but slow dilution of everything Hindu?
