Bharat needs to be wary of the foreign elements having a history of destabilizing countries

Probably no private person has been blamed for spreading political instability by so many heads of state. From Macedonia, Azerbaijan and Iceland to Russia and USA, George Soros is active everywhere. He has been accused of trying to overthrow the government in Republic of Macedonia to help the Socialist-Islamist alliance to come to power. In Turkey, Erdogan claimed that he was behind the 2013 protests and closed his NGO in that country. In Azerbaijan, President Ibrahim Aliyev has blamed him for the Armenian revolution of 2018, acting against the government and also the 2020 war between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He had been accused by the then PM Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson of Iceland of a conspiracy to topple his government. Former US President Trump had claimed that Soros was behind the protests in US against appointing Brett Kavanaugh as a Supreme Court judge.

Past actions of Soros

Of course, some of the claims above might be due to the paranoia and fertile imagination of the politicians as well as the need to ascribe blame to anywhere but to oneself. However, there is no smoke without fire and the career of George Soros does give reason to suspect his hand in political uprisings in various parts of the world.

His NGO Open Society Foundations hosts a 4 page summary of how Soros brought down the Communist governments in Eastern Europe in the 1990s. This includes Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Ukraine and the Baltic countries. His NGO has been instrumental in the 2003 Rose Revolution in Georgia which brought down government of Eduard Shevardnadze and brought Mikheil Saakashvili to power. He funded the revolution almost single handedly and spent US $42 millions for the same. We have already noticed how Soros allegedly had a hand in Turkey’s 2013 disturbances and 2018 Armenian revolution.

However, Soros is also famous for the Black Wednesday that occurred on 16 September 1992, when UK was forced to withdraw the pound sterling from the European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM). Soros “broke the Bank of England” as it lost about £3.3 billion on that day, while Soros made a profit of more than £1 billion on that single day!

The modus operandi

The modus operandi of the George Soros is briefly explained in the 4 page document mentioned above. He “first began giving scholarships to the handful of dissidents who dared to challenge the system, allowing them to travel to study in the United States”. Thus, he starts by making inroads in the “civil society” and buys the loyalty of budding leaders. The document further states that “funding dissident groups” is another way in which Soros gains influence. We invite our readers to speculate which are those groups in context of Bharat.

So basically, Soros’ NGOs  “offer open scholarships, and fund cultural events and academic exchanges” to build a network in a country. However, we would not know what the target of this “aid” is, until after Soros has succeeded in his goal. In USA, he has openly sided with Democrats and has funded millions of dollars into election campaigns of Obama, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. He was one of the biggest donor to Joe Biden’s campaign last year. It goes without saying that Soros also carries a lot of influence with cultural celebrities from the world of cinema and music.

The case in Bharat

Last year George Soros publicly criticized the nationalism in Bharat as being an enemy of “open society”. He said that  “Nationalism, far from being reversed, made further headway. The biggest and most frightening setback occurred in India.” He accused PM Narendra Modi of “creating a Hindu nationalist state, imposing punitive measures on Kashmir, a semi autonomous Muslim region, and threatening to deprive millions of Muslims of their citizenship.” Our readers would recognise that these are all the stock phrases of our own “dissident groups”.

Soros also discussed his plans of a new $1 billion fund to push back nationalism in USA, Bharat and China. This also included building a University. His immediate goal in USA is complete with the defeat of Trump. We can expect him to turn his full attention to Bharat now. He is not likely to get much headway in China as it does not let foreign forces operate in the country with same degree of freedom as Bharat does. We are probably witnessing some portion of his campaign against Modi and nationalism in Bharat as of now. Only future will tell.

What drives Soros to act in so many countries and fund political campaigns from USA to Turkey, Armenia, Georgia and Bharat? The official explanation of the Open Society Foundations is that Soros does that to support the emergence of “open society” where ” people with different opinions and interests to live together in peace.”However, who is the arbiter of his “open society”?

Soros has arrogated to himself this right to meddle in politics of other countries. Bharatiya nationalism has always been inclusive and the half truths of Soros cannot change this. That the activities of Soros are a danger to the peace, security, constitutional order and sovereignty of the country is quite evident. It is time for a pushback.
