‘Healing program’ a bid to convert Hindus, allege Malaysian Hindu groups

A coalition of Hindu NGO is set to wage war against a centre located in Sungai Tua, Batu Caves for allegedly organising a “healing program” in order to convert Hindus who may be vulnerable to unethical conversion tactics.

“This will not be tolerated anymore and we will stand up to such unethical and illegal practices,” said Hindu Sevai Sangam founder Shri Ramaji.

Ramaji said that the Alpha Fellowship Centre is conducting a healing program, which will be held from Oct 12 till 14, and is targeted at “non-Muslims” only.

Ramaji said that hundreds of people from several NGOs and the community will gather to hold a protest this Friday at 7 pm at the centre in Batu Caves.

“Hindu NGOs and the public in Malaysian and around the world have had enough of this and have decided to take this issue head-on.

“If it’s a genuine healing program, why only for “non-Muslims”? Why can’t they “heal” Muslims also,” he said adding that he will lodge a police report over the matter today.

Ramaji said that “certain groups are targeting the poor, sick, and lesser educated segment of the Hindu society for coerced and unethical conversions.

“These groups run unlicensed and unregistered welfare homes and are converting underaged children and their parents as well and this we believe is illegal in law,” he alleged.
