The following news item caught my eye. In Iran, governed by Islamic sharia law, 30 of its citizens were arrested. Their crime? Attending a private yoga class!
That’s right: even attending a yoga class is against sharia law. Actually think about it. In which Islamic country can you run a yoga class openly? Not in Saudi Arabia. Not in any of the former territories governed by ISIS. Not in Iran. Not in Afghanistan’s areas controlled by the Taliban. The reason is the same: fundamentalist Islam does not permit any expression of Kafir culture. Yoga is part of Hindu culture, hence forbidden by orthodox Islam.
In general, one can argue that the Quran contains many verses that preach intolerance against non-Muslims. For a annotated list, see here:

So, when a mullah says this is the official stance of Islam (as codified in its sharia law), then a few questions arise:
1. Why don’t our secular liberals ever question this?
2. Why are Hindus asked to not only tolerate, but even promote Islamic practices in Hindu society?
3. When Islam’s official position is that anything non-Islamic is forbidden, is there any truth whatsoever in this elusive “Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb” that the liberals keep talking about? Or is it like the emperor’s clothes – none but these liberals can see it.
