Miscreants vandalised two murtis of Maa Kali in Kalmakanda sub-district, Netrokona district of northern Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 around 5:30 am. The vandals entered into the temple by breaking the door & windows of the temple, Bengali-language daily Kalerkantho has reported.
Villager Parimal Roy filed a case with police in this regard. Local police and the sub-district (council) chairman visited the spot. Police has confiscated the broken murtis for further investigation.
Earlier, another murti of Maa Kali was vandalised on the night of January 24 in the same sub-district. Local block president of ruling party Awami League, Jalal Uddin’s son Eamin was arrested for that incident, Bengali-language daily Dainik Inqilab had reported quoting the Officer-in-charge of the local police station.
