Muslim Extremists vandalize Islamabad Krishna Temple, steal construction material

The Islamabad Krishna Temple is in news again. Last we saw, the Capital Development Authority of Islamabad had stopped the work of the temple after protests from political parties, Muslim seminaries and from local Islamists. Now reports are coming that the foundation of the under construction temple has been vandalized and 1 ton of iron, to be used for construction, has been stolen from the site.

It is to be noted that the groundbreaking ceremony was performed by Lal Chand Malhi on 23rd June. He is a Sindhi Hindu member of the national assembly of Pakistan since 2018 from Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf party and was elected on a minority reserved seat. It is to be noted that Pakistan still follows separate electorates for Hindus and Muslims.  He has been designated the Federal Parliamentary Secretary for human rights by Imran Khan.

After the construction of the temple was stopped, there were reports of how a vandal named Malik Shani Awan had razed the foundations of the temple. He filmed himself doing that and shared it widely on social media. Unfortunately, neither Pakistani Islamists or their Indian brethren, who continuously preach about minority rights to Hindus, nor their leftists allies have said a word on such activities. Indeed, one Islamist organisation has declared that it will slaughter a cow on the site of the temple on coming Bakrid. See the tweet below by Rahat Austin, a human rights activist in Pakistan, which also contains video of vandalism.

Now another issue has come to light. Lal Chand Malhi has reported that there have been 4 distinct incidents of vandalism in the premises. In a tweet posted today morning at 09:30, he reported that about a ton of iron, to be used as construction material, was stolen by some unknown people.

It is clear that the Islamic Republic, which claims to treat its minorities in a fair manner, does not care two hoots about Hindus living there. The abduction and forced conversion of Hindus, Sikhs and Christians in Pakistan  is happening almost on a daily basis. Indeed, the perpetrators, like Mian Mitthu, have deep links with army and indeed the PM himself.

The Muslim religious leaders of Pakistan have, in the meanwhile, threatened to cut off the heads of those supporting Islamabad Krishna temple and feed them to the dogs. Watch the video in the tweet embedded below and note the shouts of approval from the Muslim audience.

The events surrounding Islamabad Krishna Temple have once again proved that Islam is in need of a strong reform movement. Shariah, the law based on Islamic scriptures and being followed in Pakistan is not in consonance with the values of tolerance, mutual respect and indeed with the modern world. The sooner Muslims realize this, the better.
