VHP’s Swami Vigyananand condemns attacks on Hindus in B’desh and Pakistan, urges UN and EU to act

Attacks on Hindu minorities in the Islamic nations of Bangladesh and Pakistan continue unabated, while the international community abdicates its responsibility to hold governments in these two nations to account.

Following the recent attack on Hindu villagers in Bangladesh and the desecration of a Hindu temple in Pakistan, VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad, i.e. Global Hindu Council) Joint General Secretary Swami Vigyananand issued an open letter to heads of UN, UNHCR and EU in which he condemned the attacks and called on the international bodies to put pressure on the two countries to provide justice to the victimized Hindus.

The letters were addressed to António Guterres, Secretary-General, United Nations; Michelle Bachelet Jeria, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCR); and Ursula von der Leyen, President, European Commission.

Mob attack on Hindu villagers and temples in Bangladesh

On Saturday, a Muslim mob attack on Hindu temples, houses and shops in a Bangladesh village left the minority shattered. The attack took place after Muslims allegedly took umbrage to Hindus singing kirtan (devotional songs) while heading to a temple on Friday evening.

In his letter, Swami Vigyananand wrote –

“This is to bring to your notice that the entire village of Mallikpara in Shiali village of Rupsha Upazila of Khulna district, Bangladesh was attacked by Jihadists between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on August 7, 2021. Ten temples, including four big ones, their icons (embodiments of divine) and 57 houses were vandalized, extensive looting of properties and cows were committed. VHP strongly condemns this barbaric incident and expresses its solidarity with the victims who are natives of the place for thousands of years.

VHP urges upon your office to take suitable action from your position, so that the Government of Bangladesh would appropriately address the serious matter immediately (through its local administration) and provide relief and security to and compensate the Hindu village for the loss, and punish the Jihadi persecutors, and ensure security of the minorities in the entire country of Bangladesh!

Egged on by the Muslim fantasy to institute Dar al-Islam to bring the entire world under the rule of Nizam-e-Mustafa, targeting the Hindu minority places of worship, their points of veneration, the microscopic extant Hindu natives (and especially their girls and women folk), makes this an attack on the human rights of minorities, including their liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith, worship and livelihood. The agenda and the modus operandi of the persecutors is to either convert the minorities by force to make them Muslims, or terrorize and drive them out and take possession of their movable and immovable properties; these minorities are still being converted everyday or killed or forced to leave Bangladesh to seek shelter and protection in India or elsewhere outside their native land of Bangladesh.

This incident demonstrates the Jihadi strategies and tactics taught by the Wahabist school of Islamism whose influence now runs deep among the majority Bangladeshi Muslim society. They have been executing this Jihadi agenda against democratic values in that geographic region more doggedly since 1946-47!

Vishva Hindu Parishad urges upon your offices again to make the Government of Bangladesh ensure justice for the said victims and exemplary punishment for the persecutors at the earliest! VHP also urges the democratic world to take notice of the human rights violations against minorities in Bangladesh and ensure that the democratic and human rights of the minorities in that country are safeguarded!”

Vandalization of Hindu temple in Pakistan

The video of a brazen attack on a Hindu temple in Pakistan’s Punjab province had recently gone viral – the attack was broadcast live on Facebook by the attackers themselves. The Islamist rationale for this attack was that it was ‘retaliation’ for a 9-year-old Hindu boy allegedly urinating near a madrassa. Regarding this attack, Swami Vigyananand wrote –

“Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) brings to your notice the monstrous attack on the Siddhivinayak temple in the Rahim Yar Khan (RYK) district in Pakistan’s Punjab province on August 04, 2021! The Muslim attackers vandalized, desecrated and burnt down the Hindu temple. Many TV channels around the world have also covered the incident. VHP strongly condemns this incident and expresses its solidarity with the 100 victimized Hindu families living around the temple who worshipped there.

Egged on by the Muslim fantasy pf Dar-ul-Islam all over the world, targeting Hindu, Sikh and Christian minority places of worship and the Hindu, Sikh and Christian people (and especially their girls and women folk) whose are natives of that geographical region, makes this an attack on their human rights, including their liberty of thought, expression, faith, worship and livelihood.

The perpetrators clearly seek to either convert them by force and make them Muslims or destroy the minuscule surviving Hindu, Sikh and Christian population left in Pakistan after the 1947 partition. These minorities are still forced to leave Pakistan to seek shelter and protection in India or elsewhere outside their native land – now called Pakistan. This incident demonstrates radical and fundamentalist attitude and approach of majority Pakistani Muslim society and state.

Vishva Hindu Parishad urges upon your organization to make the Government of Pakistan ensure justice for the said victims and punishment for the perpetrators at the earliest!

Vishva Hindu Parishad urges the democratic world to take notice of the human rights violation against minorities in Pakistan, and ensure the democratic and human rights of these minorities in Pakistan are safeguarded.”
