White Christian Nationalist Massacres 49 in Christchurch Mosques

At least 49 people were killed and over 40 injured in mass shootings at two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch Friday.

Australian Brenton Tarrant, a white male aged 28, who carried out the terror attack, has been arrested and charged with murder. 2 other men and a woman were also arrested, but police are still trying to understand their involvement.

Tarrant published an online manifesto detailing his plans to carry out the massacre just hours before the attack. He also live streamed his attack on the Al Noor mosque, where 41 people were killed.

Some of the key highlights from Tarrant’s chilling, twisted 73-page manifesto titled ‘The Great Replacement’ are –

  • He describes himself as an “ordinary White man, 28 years old. Born in Australia to a working class, low income family. My parents are of Scottish,Irish and English stock.”
  • He claims mass immigration and the higher fertility rates, higher social trust and strong, robust traditions of the immigrants, coupled with a culture of hedonistic, nihilistic individualism in ‘White nations’ is leading to a ‘White genocide’.
  • He talks about taking ‘revenge for the deaths caused by foreign invaders in European lands throughout history, for enslavement of Europeans by the Islamic slavers, for the European lives lost to Islamic terror attacks’. He quotes Pope Urban II’s exhortations for the first crusade (Christian holy war against Muslim Turks to retake Jerusalem) launched in 1095 CE.
  • He talks about ‘rape of European women by invaders’ citing cases like Rotherham child sex abuse, Sydney gang rapes, New years eve sexual assaults in Germany etc.
  • He claims to be inspired by Norway mass killer Anders Behring Breivik, who killed 77 in 2011, and whom he calls ‘Knight Justiciar’ Breivik. Tarrant’s reference to Breivik as a ‘Knight’ relates to the Norwegian’s support for the Knights Templar – an extremist Christian group of specialist fighters from the 12th century.
  • At another place, he accepts his anti-Islamic motivation and talks about ‘revenge against islam for the 1300 years of war and devastation that it has brought upon the people of the West and other peoples of the world.’
  • He says his travels through Western Europe in April-May 2017, and the terror attack in Stockholm on 7 April, 2017 where a partially deaf girl Ebba Akerlund was one of 5 crushed to death under a truck driven by rejected Uzbek asylum seeker Rakhmat Akilov, ‘pushed him to violence’.
  • He hopes calls for strict gun control and abolishment of the second amendment of US constitution (right to bear arms) in the wake of his attack will result in a fracturing of the US along cultural and racial lines.
  • He claims a Facebook video (now disabled) put out by the Otago Muslim Association titled Very interesting video. Only for Muslims. Please do not redistribute proved ‘their knowledge of their actions, and their guilt’ – and this acted as a trigger for his brutal terror attack.
  • At one place, he calls himself and Ethno-nationalist & Eco-fascist. He says ‘when I was young I was a communist, then an anarchist and finally a libertarian before coming to be an eco-fascist.’
  • He claimed to be inspired by British fascist Oswald Mosley and Candace Owens, an outspoken right-wing commentator in the US.
  • He claims “The nation with the closest political and social values to my own is the People’s Republic of China.”
  • He says time for White European nationalists to attack is now, as within a decade they will be ‘vulnerable to foreign invasion, most likely from the east, specifically China; Turkey; India or some combination of the three.’ He calls for ‘invaders to be removed from European soil, regardless from where they came or when they came. Roma, African, Indian, Turkish, Semitic or other.’

In another development, an Australian MP, Senator Fraser Anning has released a controversial statement in which he said the attacks highlighted the “growing fear over an increasing Muslim presence” in Australian and New Zealand communities.

Senator Anning went on to say, “Let us be clear, while Muslims may have been victims today, usually they are perpetrators. World-wide, Muslims are killing people in the name of their faith on an industrial scale.”

He then took aim against Islam, calling it a “violent ideology…which justifies endless war against anyone who opposes it and calls for the murder of unbelievers and apostates”. “It is the religious equivalent of fascism,” he said.

He ended with a passage from the bible Matthew 26:52 ‘all they that take the sword, shall perish by the sword’, and said, “those who follow a violent religion that calls on them to murder us, cannot be too surprised when someone takes them at their word and responds in kind”.

Anning’s comments have been widely condemned by several mainstream politicians and commentators. Messages of shock and condolence for the victims of the Christchurch attack have poured in from across the world.
