Wanted radical Islamist Zakir Naik supports demolition of Hindu temple in Pakistan

Radical Islamic preacher Zakir Naik has justified the demolition of the Hindu temple in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to a Zee News report, Zakir Naik stated that temples should not be allowed to be constructed in an Islamic country,

Zakir Naik, a wanted televangelist fugitive who is currently hiding in Malaysia, issued a statement in this regard justifying how Mohammad himself had resorted to breaking of murtis. Naik said “When Muhammad returned to Kaaba, he broke almost 360 idols that were in Kaaba. In Islamic countries, a statue or idol should not be made or if there is something, it should be broken. A statue should not be anywhere in an Islamic country and if it is somewhere it should be broken”.

On 30 December, a radical Islamist mob led by members of Pakistan’s radical Islamist Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party had demolished a Hindu temple and set the temple to fire in the town of Karak in Pakistan. Pakistan’s Minister for Human Rights, Shireen Mazari condemned the burning of the temple and called for swift action against the accused by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

Shireen Mazari tweeted that

“Strongly condemn the burning of a Hindu temple by a mob in Karak Khyber Pukhtunkhwa. KP govt must ensure culprits brought to justice. MOHR also moving on this. We as a govt have a responsibility to ensure the safety & security of all our citizens & their places of worship”.

District police chief Irfan Ullah has confirmed the filing of FIR against several persons who have also been detained by the police. Bharat has expressed serious concern and demanded strict action against those responsible for this attack on the Hindu temple.

Of course, radical Islamist Zakir Naik issuing such a statement is no surprise considering the hatred he harbors for Hindu Dharma and how his speeches have always been filled with vitriol against Hindus and Hindu Dharma.

Zakir Naik frequently communicates with his followers through online means and answers their questions in his videos, which are uploaded on his social media platforms.  Zakir Naik had earlier called for uniting the Muslims of Bharat.

Zakir Naik and his views are dangerous for communal harmony and integrity of the nation. However, the fugitive Islamic preacher continues to have influence in Bharat. Indeed, Abu Yusuf alias Mustaqeem Khan, the ISIS terrorist recently arrested has confessed that he was radicalised by videos of Zakir Naik. The videos of Naik push the dangerous Muslim communal agenda, with elements similar to that of pre-partition Muslim League.

With such a background and history of hatred for Hindus, it is hardly surprising that Zakir Naik has approved of desecration and vandalization of a Hindu temple.
