A 17-year-old girl from Bangladesh was rescued from Majestic and sent to a children’s home after she was found sleeping on the footpath with bruises on her body. On investigating further, it was learnt that the girl had been brought to the city on the pretext of getting a job and was allegedly forced into prostitution.

The girl was brought here a couple of months ago by the accused. Based on the information shared by her, the Siddapura police have arrested five people, including a woman. The accused have been identified as Mohamada Madisa, Kislumulla, 37, Imran Mulla, 30, his wife, Sati, 25 and Bajida, 30, all from Bangladesh. Police said that the girl was rescued by an NGO from Majestic footpath. She was found with several bruise marks and sleeping on the footpath.

On further questioning, they learnt that she had been promised a job and hoodwinked.

She was made to stay in a house in Kadugodi where the accused forced her into prostitution. They would abuse her verbally and physically whenever she refused to cooperate with them.

Somehow, she managed to escape from them and reached Majestic from where the NGO rescued her.

Police said that the accused including the woman were soon arrested and sent to Judicial custody. Siddapura police had registered a case under POCSO Act and booked them under IPC section 363 (kidnapping), 376 (rape) and 370 (trafficking). The case has been transferred to Kadugodi police station for further investigation.
