In an attempt to prove his Christian credentials, President Biden would continue to attend Mass revealed White House press secretary Jen Psaki. The announcement comes in the wake of the widespread rebuke that Biden has been receiving from Catholic Bishops for his pro-abortion stance.
The move is being seen as a pushback against the US Conference of Catholic Bishops that is contemplating denying communion to President Biden as part of their plan to condemn Biden’s stand favoring abortions.
Washington Times quotes Psaki:
“Joe Biden is a strong man of faith” Ms. Psaki said at the White House press briefing. “He goes to church nearly every weekend. He even went when we were on our overseas trip. Ms. Psaki said the president’s faith has guided him through “some challenging moments. That’s how many Americans see their faith, not through a political prism,” she said. So I expect he’ll continue to attend church as he’s done for many, many years.”
As per reports, last week the Bishops voted in favor of limiting communion Biden and other politicians who supported the pro-abolition law. 168-55 have voted in favor of drafting a “formal statement of the meaning of the Eucharist in the life of the Church” while six bishops abstained. It is worth noting that Christianity views abortion as a sin that has no religious sanction.
